    Abstract: A display system includes a first memory and a display driver. The display system is configured to control the first memory to receive compensation information from the first memory with a first frequency and generate data signals for image data to be displayed on a display panel. The generation of the data signals comprises performing a compensation for the data signals based on the compensation information received from the first memory. The display driver is further configured to update pixels of the display panel with the data signals during an active display state. The display driver is further configured to generate updated compensation information based at least in part on the image data and the compensation information received from the first memory and transmit the updated compensation information to the first memory during the active display state with a second frequency lower than the first frequency.

    Abstract: In a data communication system in which many nodes are connected to a common data bus so that each node can communicate with other nodes, a data frame to be transmitted from a node to other nodes includes a message having a variable length interposed between a signal indicating the length of the message and a signal indicating the end of the message in the frame. The message and the signals are coded according to a coding rule such as NRZ, and a bit stuffing rule is applied to the signal indicating the length of the message and the message while another rule violating the bit stuffing rule is applied to the signal indicating the end of the message. When the message length is changed due to noise or other causes in the course of data transmission, the signal indicating the end of the message is clearly detected at a receiving end because it is coded according to a rule different from the rule applied to the message and other signals.

    Abstract: A circuit arrangement disposed in a node within a local area network is connected to a communication bus within the local area network. The circuit arrangement includes an input circuit for introducing data from the communication bus into the node. A node state detecting device is operative for detecting whether or not the node is in a stand-by state. A power feed suspending device is operative for suspending power feed to at least part of the input circuit when the node state detecting device detects that the node is in the stand-by state. A power feed restarting device is operative for monitoring a voltage at the communication bus, and restarting the power feed to at least part of the input circuit when the voltage at the communication bus becomes equal to a level indicating reception of data. A protective circuit is operative for protecting the input circuit from an abnormal current which flows from the communication bus.

    Abstract: A multiplex transmission system for a vehicle is constructed such that signals are given and received via a communication line between a plurality of peripheral stations and a central station. The plurality of peripheral stations are arranged at various places such as a door system, an engine system and the like. Each of the peripheral stations is constructed such that an input signal from the plurality of working members (a door lock, a power window and the like) is sent to the central station via the communication line. A control signal from the central station is input via the communication line 5 by the peripheral stations to output to the plurality of working members. Depending on the bit unit form of the control signal working members are actuated. The central station processes data sent by the peripheral stations to generate the control signal.

    Abstract: An air clutch of the type having a friction drum secured to a first shaft and an inflatable annular tube concentrically surrounding said drum and carrying friction means for engagement with the drum upon inflation of the tube, is provided with a variable elastic coupling in the drum portion of the clutch. The coupling is comprised of an annular drum having a plurality of radially inwardly disposed plates extending in the axial direction and a hub member having a plurality of axially extending radially disposed plates thereon interdigitated with the plates on the drum. A bellows member is disposed between each pair of plates with the interior of the bellows being disposed in fluid communication with conduits running through the plates on the hub member. The conduits are connected to a common source of air pressure whereby the torsional rigidity of the coupling can be varied by varying the air pressure within the plurality of bellows.
