  • Patent number: 8564966
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an arrangement structure capable of reducing noise caused by a laminated ceramic capacitor mounted on a printed circuit board. A unit arrangement structure includes ceramic capacitors. Among the laminated ceramic capacitors, capacitors are arranged so that capacitor axes thereof extend along a first axis, while the other ceramic capacitors are arranged so that capacitor axes thereof extend along a second axis crossing the first axis. In accordance with such an arrangement structure, it is possible to effectively suppress noise even in the case of single-side mounting.

  • Patent number: 8413302
Abstract: The invention broadly contemplates an apparatus that makes it possible to easily lift up and open a notebook type computer cover irrespective of a weight of the cover and stop the cover at a predetermined opened/closed position. A portable electronic apparatus includes: a main body provided with an input operating portion, a cover provided with a display unit, a hinge mechanism including a rotary shaft fixed to the cover and a support member fixed to the main body. The apparatus includes an electromagnetic mechanism having a permanent magnet and an electromagnet, in which the permanent magnet and the electromagnet are disposed with respect to the rotary shaft so that when the current is applied or not applied to the electromagnet, a repulsive or attractive force is generated which allows the rotary shaft to be in a rotatable state, and thereby allow an opening/closing torque to act on the cover.

  • Patent number: 6557106
Abstract: An input/output device controller supplies power to a PC card in a secure manner. A PC card is a device that is loaded into a slot of a personal computer. The input/output device controller, which permits an information processing apparatus to communicate with an input/output device, operates in a manner so that when an abnormality is detected in the supply of operating power to the PC card, the detection result is reported to the personal computer. When an abnormality in the supply of operating power to the PC card is detected, the output of a driver for the PC card is halted so as to prevent the destruction of the internal circuitry of the PC card due to latch-up problems.

  • Publication number: 20020019817
Abstract: A method and system for trading personal information under conditions which allow the Internet users (ISP users) who own the information to participate. A user who receives a connection service via an Internet service provider (ISP) provides his/her personal information to the ISP with each item being classified as either public or secret. The ISP builds a database 6 for storage of the users' personal information and offers the information to requesting business entities in exchange for compensation. A portion of the compensation is returned to the users, for example, as a discount in the connection service charge.

  • Patent number: 6189056
Abstract: Providing an information processing terminal of a folded structure comprising a first housing portion having a form factor defined by PCMCIA and a second housing pivotally coupled to the first housing portion with an improved reliability of a cable passing through the coupling portion. The data processing part, which is a core part of the PDA function, is contained within the second housing portion which is not subject to restriction of shape and size. As a result, the first housing portion which has to conform to the PCMCIA/JEIDA specification may be relatively easily designed. For example, while the information processing apparatus is provided with a key input means in the first housing portion, it is possible to use a high function key board such as a keyboard of an excellent feel of key touch or a back lighted keyboard.
