    Abstract: A rotary compressor is provided with a cylinder which defines a cylinder chamber and a piston disposed in the cylinder chamber. The piston includes a roller which performs a revolving motion within the cylinder chamber and a vane which partitions the interior of the cylinder chamber into a suction chamber and a compression chamber. A small space is provided so as to communicate with the compression chamber in only a predetermined section without communicating with the suction chamber so as to suppress noise generated by a pressure fluctuation in the interior of a compression chamber and, at the same time, can prevent the occurrence of a loss induced by re-expansion of a refrigerant remaining in a small space and a loss induced by return of the refrigerant to a suction chamber.

    Abstract: A closed type motor-driven compressor includes a motor accommodated in a closed container and a compression mechanism connected through a crank shaft to the motor. A shielding member having a cylindrical portion substantially concentric with the axis of the compression mechanism is disposed between the motor and the compression mechanism. This shielding member defines a shielding air space between the motor and the compression mechanism for preventing a permeation of a lubricating oil. An inlet of a discharge pipe of the closed type motor-driven compressor is positioned inwardly of this shielding air space.

    Abstract: An overload protective device to the disposed in an electric circuit serving to supply current to a load has a pair of fixed contacts provided inside of a case and an inversible disk-like bimetal of a curved shape having a pair of movable contacts capable of coming in contact with the fixed contacts, respectively. A shaft is fixed to the case at one end thereof and formed with a head portion at the free end portion. The shaft extends though a hole formed in the central portion of the bimetal. When the bimetal breaks, a circuit breaker breaks the electric circuit permanently to thereby prevent the load and the overload protective device from being burnt out.
