  • Patent number: 4379004
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a high permeability amorphous magnetic alloy is disclosed. In the method amorphous magnetic alloy ribbon prepared by quenching a melt of raw material is annealed at an elevated temperature lower than a crystallization temperature of the alloy, in a magnetic field. During the annealing, the alloy ribbon and the direction of the magnetic field are relatively rotated with each other. The method is especially useful to an amorphous magnetic alloy having high saturation magnetic induction where the magnetic Curie temperature of the alloy usually exceeds the crystallization temperature of the alloy.

  • Patent number: 4311539
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an high permeability amorphous magnetic alloy is disclosed. In the method, an amorphous alloy ribbon is annealed at an elevated temperature T(.degree.K.) satisfying the relation 0.95.times.Tc (.degree.K.).ltoreq.T(.degree.K.)<Tcry(.degree.K.) where Tc is a magnetic Curie temperature and Tcry is a crystallization temperature of the alloy. Then the ribbon is quenched to a room temperature from the elevated temperature. The quenched amorphous alloy ribbon is again annealed at a temperature between 100.degree. C. and 250.degree. C. By the method, the amorphous magnetic alloy shows a high permeability over a wide frequency range and flat frequency response characteristics of permeability over a wide frequency range.

  • Patent number: 4212344
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an amorphous alloy in which a molten mixture of raw materials making up the amorphous alloy is first prepared, and then introduced between a pair of oppositely rotating rolls where the molten material is rolled and quenched into a film. The conditions under which the rolling and quenching occur are carried out under the following conditions: ##EQU1## where: Y is the roll pressure per unit width of the film in metric tons per centimeter,C.sub.o is a constant determined by Young's modulus and the thermal conductivity of the material of the rolls,A is the rotational speed of the rolls in r.p.m.,R is the diameter of the rolls in centimeters,X is the thickness of the film in microns,T.sub.cry is the crystallization temperature of the amorphous alloy in .degree.C.,T is the temperature of the rolls in .degree.C., and where ##EQU2## where the rolls have the diameters of R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 centimeters, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4190438
Abstract: An amorphous magnetic alloy consists of 2 to 20 at % (atomic percent) of ruthenium atoms; 10 to 30 at % of atoms of at least one amorphous forming element selected from the group consisting of phosphorus, carbon, silicon, boron and germanium; and iron atoms as the predominant component of the balance.

  • Patent number: 4093453
Abstract: A method of making a substantially ordered alloy which involves providing a metal base consisting of at least one of the ingredients of the desired alloy, depositing a thin metal layer on the base, the metal layer containing the remaining constituents of the desired alloy, and heating the metal base and the deposited metal layer at a temperature below the order-disorder transformation temperature of the ordered alloy to be formed to thereby cause the ordered alloy to be produced by diffusion.
