  • Patent number: 10021359
Abstract: The discharge lamp lighting device for supplying alternating current to a discharge lamp includes: a power supply control part having a segment signal generation part, a peak value control part, and a frequency control part; and a power supply part. The peak value control part sets a specific segment period, which indicates a value where a value of integral corresponding to a product of the length of the segment period and a peak value set in a segment period is most deviated from an average value of the values of integral within the specific period, to a period other than a final segment period positioned at the final end of the specific period, among a plurality of segment periods belonging to the specific period.

  • Patent number: 7633236
Abstract: A lamp lighting apparatus comprises a glass tube, electrodes provided in an axis direction of the glass tube, and an inverter circuit which apply a high voltage of an alternating current to the electrodes. The inverter circuit includes an inverter control circuit which outputs a switching element operating signal, a switching element circuit which converts a direct current voltage into an alternating voltage by ON/OFF controlling the switching element according to the switching element operating signal, and a boosting transformer which boosts the alternating voltage from the switching circuit. In the lighting apparatus, a frequency of the switching element operating signal is higher than that in a steady state operating period, during at least part of period from a beginning of lighting according to the burst light control until the lamp emits light entirely, approximately in the axis direction of the lamp.

  • Patent number: 7586261
Abstract: The present rare gas fluorescent lamp can prevent reduction of an effective light-emitting region by securely suppressing creeping discharge even when a conductive material is provided to improve starting performance. The rare gas fluorescent lamp having a light-emitting tube whose inner surface is coated by a fluorescent material and which is filled with a rare gas, a plurality of external electrodes which are provided on an outer surface of the light-emitting tube, a conductive material, which is provided at an end portion of the light-emitting tube that corresponds to a portion on which the external electrodes are arranged, the rare gas fluorescent lamp, and a creeping discharge prevention unit that is provided inward of the conductive material in an axial direction to prevent diffusion of creeping discharge occurring between the conductive material and electrical charges stored on the inner surface of the light-emitting tube.
