    Abstract: A slider for a fluid tight slide fastener that has upper and lower plates joined together by a guide post. A guide plate is formed on the guide post to cooperate with the upper and lower plates, to guide the coupling elements and sealing lips of the slide fastener into engagement in conjunction with side flanges on the upper and lower plates. The slider is integrally formed, such as by die casting or moulding. To facilitate moulding the guide plate may be thickened at its leading end and provided with a tapered edge, and connected to the upper plate by a web at its trailing end.

    Abstract: Water repellent slider caps and zipper structures. Certain embodiments provide a male slider cap that receives a slider to thereby reduce the amount of water introduced around the perimeter of the slider. A pull tab on the slider may be inserted into a pocket on the male slider cap that is defined by the inner surface of the male slider cap and a snap tab. In other embodiments there is additionally provided a garage attached to the zipper tape. The garage may receive the male slider cap to reduce the amount of water around the perimeter of the slider and into the garage. Certain other embodiments provide a female slider cap to receive a second slider that may be positioned on the zipper tape. The female slider cap may receive the leading edge of the male slider cap, thus covering any open spaces between the first and second sliders.

The releasing end stop (15) is pivotable relative to the opposed coupling element (11) to allow movement of the releasing end stop (15) through the channel (47) of the slider (35) when additional force is applied to the slider (35). With this construction, the releasing end stop (15) enjoys a longer life span. Furthermore it is advantageously possible to use the same material for the top end stop (15) as for the coupling elements (11), so that the manufacturing process will be much simplified.

    Abstract: Various embodiments of slide fasteners include a first set of coupling elements and a second set of coupling elements configured to be removably joined together by a slider. Each coupling element includes a first surface having a first shape and a second surface having a second shape, wherein the second surface is spaced apart from and cofaces the first surface. The first shape may be substantially triangular or substantially trapezoidal, according to various embodiments, and the second shape is substantially gear shaped. When the coupling elements of the first set and the second set are removably joined together, water is substantially prevented from leaking from the first surface to the second surface. In addition, the coupling elements are disposed on stringer tapes, and the surfaces of the stringer tapes adjacent the first surfaces of the coupling elements are laminated with a water resistant material.

    Abstract: An automatic lock slider 1 for a concealed slide fastener comprises a slider body 3, a locking lever 5 and a knob 11. The locking lever 5 is pivotally mounted on the slider body 3. A locking pawl 53 on one end 55 of the locking lever 5 is urged into a fastener element guide channel 39 of the slider body 3 by a spring 7, to prevent unintentional sliding of the slider 1 along a slide fastener. The knob 11 is attached to a connecting ring 9 through which the locking lever 5 is inserted. When opening or closing the slide fastener, the knob 11 rocks and lifts the locking lever 11 to withdraw the locking pawl 53 from the fastener element guide channel 39, thereby allowing movement of the slider 1 along the slide fastener.

    Abstract: A slide fastener in which an insert pin and a box pin of a separable bottom stop assembly made of synthetic resin are molded integrally along side edges of fastener tapes. The insert pin and the box pin have peripheral shapes allowing themselves to be inserted into element row guide grooves of a slider, and are molded integrally such that the entire insert pin and the box pin incline toward rear face sides of the respective tapes from their inner side edges to outer side edges relative to tape planes of the fastener, said rear face sides having no core threads of the core portions. Thus, resin layers having substantially even thickness can be formed on both the front and rear face sides of the core portions so that the resin layers never peel away from rear surfaces of the fastener tapes, and the core portions and their peripheries never become brittle.

The separable bottom end stop is formed of polyacetal resin, and a distance d between each outer side face of the box and each of the protruding guide portions and a protrusion height h of each of the protruding guide portions from a surface of each of the thin guide portions when the box pin and the insert pin are mounted into the box satisfy the equation (I): tan−1(d/h) ≧33°, where d≠0. The separable bottom end stop becomes hard to be broken with having excellent durability, despite using polyacetal resin which allows various coloring achieved easily, but is easy to be broken.
