Patent number: 5798011Abstract: A method of making a combination concrete panel wall, concrete window frame, and concrete sash glazing frame. The sill, lintel, and jambs of the window frame are fiber-reinforced concrete extrusions which are cut to length and cemented together. The hardened frame is placed in a concrete panel molding frame to locate and define a window opening. The concrete panel wall grout is then poured and dovetail-type mortise and tenon joints are precast in the exterior faces of the window frame which abut the poured concrete wall panel plastic grout, to permanently mold and interlock the window frame to the panel wall. The sash members are fitted about a window pane which is located in interior grooves in the sash members and then glazed. Sealing means interconnect the sash to the window frame to provide a condensation-resistant, water-tight, air-tight, heat and fire-resistant concrete wall closure.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 1996Date of Patent: August 25, 1998Assignees: Kajima Corporation, Kabushiki Kaisha F R CInventors: Tatsuo Suenaga, Hiroaki Nakagawa, Shin Terauchi, Takeo Kikuchi, Shinnosuke Aiba, Mikio Kobayashi, Yutaka Katsuta, Kenji Ago, Katsumi Kosuge, Yasuyuki Matsubara, Masato Tanaami, Shunichi Sugishita, Hideki Ikeda, Toshio Furuya, Shigeyuki Akihama, Takahiro Arai

The sash members are also reinforced concrete extrusions which are cut to length, cemented together, and fitted about a window pane which is located in interior grooves in the sash members and then glazed. An elastoplastic seal interconnects the sash to the window frame to provide a condensation-resistant, water-tight, air-tight, heat and fire-resistant concrete wall closure.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 1993Date of Patent: October 18, 1994Assignees: Kajima Corporation, Kabushiki Kaisha F R CInventors: Tatsuo Suenaga, Hiroaki Nakagawa, Shin Terauchi, Takeo Kikuchi, Shinnosuke Aiba, Mikio Kobayashi, Yutaka Katsuta, Kenji Ago, Katsumi Kosuge, Yasuyuki Matsubara, Masato Tanaami, Shunichi Sugishita, Hideki Ikeda, Toshio Furuya, Shigeyuki Akihama, Takahiro Arai

Patent number: 5032340Abstract: In a curtain wall of metal-stud-frame type in which a metal frame is attached to the back surface of a concrete panel through a flexible anchor, a self-supporting type solid, knitted goods formed by knitting fibers in three dimensional directions with a pitch between each fabric exceeding 5 mm is buried in the skin of said concrete panel and the forward end of said flexible anchor is held in the space of cell of said solid, knitted goods. The curtain wall has a high bending strength and is easily manufactured and, therefore, suitable for use in external materials of buildings.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 1989Date of Patent: July 16, 1991Assignee: Kajima CorporationInventors: Shigeyuki Akihama, Mikio Kobayashi, Tatsuo Suenaga, Toshiyuki Fukumoto, Yoshikazu Taniguchi, Hiroaki Nakgawa

Patent number: 5010705Abstract: A curtain wall building panel having a metal frame secured to the reverse side of a concrete panel with flexible anchors. A 3-D braid is formed in such a manner that non-metallic fibers are braided in the three directions at a pitch of 5 mm or more and have a self-supporting characteristic. The braid is embedded in the concrete panel and the front ends of the flexible anchors are secured to cell spaces in the 3-D braid. The curtain wall exhibits excellent bending strength, can be easily manufactured and can be used for exterior finish of multistory buildings. A method of making the building panel is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 1990Date of Patent: April 30, 1991Assignee: Kajima CorporationInventors: Shigeyuki Akihama, Mikio Kobayashi, Tatsuo Suenaga, Toshiyuki Fukumoto, Yoshikazu Taniguchi, Hiroaki Nakagawa

Patent number: 4909009Abstract: A lightweight wall panel for a building comprises a thin, flat, flexible panel body, a plurality of thin rib portions formed on one surface of the panel body at least at peripheral edges thereof, a plurality of female threaded fasteners embedded in the rib portions, and a plurality of separate reinforcement channels secured to the panel body at least at the peripheral edges thereof by a plurality of male threaded fasteners each extending through one of the reinforcement channels and threadedly engaging the respective female fasteners. The rib portions are only sufficiently thick that the attachment devices can be embedded therein. The reinforcement channels, which can be made of a lightweight material without impairing their strength, stiffen the flexible panel, and bear most of the load, so that the entire wall panel is light in weight and has adequate strength to be used as a load-bearing structure.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 1989Date of Patent: March 20, 1990Assignee: Kajima CorporationInventors: Kunihiro Ogawa, Shigeyuki Akihama

Patent number: 4627998Abstract: A process for manufacturing a precast composite structure of a matrix of cured carbon fiber reinforced concrete and at least one ferrous metallic member at least partly buried in said matrix, by forming an insulating layer of an electric resistance of at least about 100 ohms at least on that surface of the ferrous metallic member, which will otherwise be brought in contact with a concrete mix, placing the metallic member in position in a mold, pouring into the mold a concrete mix containing 0.2 to 10% by volume of carbon fiber so that said metallic member may be at least partly buried in said concrete mix, partly curing the structure until it becomes self-supporting, de-molding the partly cured structure, and fully curing the structure in an autoclave at a temperature between 100.degree. C. and 215.degree. C.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 1985Date of Patent: December 9, 1986Assignee: Kajima CorporationInventors: Shigeyuki Akihama, Tatsuo Suenaga, Makoto Saito, Hideki Ikeda, Masanori Aya, Seiichi Koyama, Masashi Kamakura, Naoto Mikami, Hideaki Miyuki
