  • Patent number: 7724369
Abstract: In order to improve an accuracy of an autocorrelation function, a correlator comprises a counter 61 for receiving a pulse signal at given time intervals (sampling times) and counting the number of pulses; a shift register 63 for receiving the number of pulses counted by the counter 61 and performing sequential time delay; an operation part 64 for performing a product-sum operation of an output from the counter 61 and that delayed by the shift register 63 for each channel; and a control part 65 for setting a delay time or a sampling time by the shift register 63 on a basis of a relationship of the Fibonacci sequence.

  • Patent number: 5270628
Abstract: The present invention provides a system for controlling the automatic driving of a vehicle for monitoring its performance and includes robotic controls for operating the driver controls. The relationship between accelerator and throttle-open positions at various speeds is stored and for a particular desired nominal velocity, an estimated open position for the throttle can be determined. The actual velocity of the vehicle, for example, on a dynamometer, is monitored and fed back to create further adjustment of a throttle-open position. Additionally, acceleration and brake pedal force can also be stored and an estimated brake pedal force can be derived and varied, depending upon any calculated difference between the actual velocity monitored and the desired monitored velocity. As a result of these features, a more precise robotic control of the vehicle can be established for closely responding to a predetermined driving pattern.

  • Patent number: 4745799
Abstract: A control device for a chassis dynamometer system which outputs a control signal for controlling a dynamometer on the basis of a control equation having parameters including a sensed torque and a sensed rotational speed of the dynamometer and an inertia of a vehicle to be tested and a mechanical inertia of the dynamometer system and including control coefficients, the control signal controlling said dynamometer so as to control the mechanical force to be absorbed therein when the dynamometer is connected to a rotating roller on which a driving wheel of the vehicle to be tested is placed via a shaft which is provided with a flywheel. The control device includes a circuit for automatically adjusting the control coefficients of the control equation utilized in the control device in accordance with changes in the mechanical inertia of said dynamometer system.

  • Patent number: 4656576
Abstract: A control system for a chassis dynamometer has a computing circuit which computes the gradient of an evaluation function on the basis of outputs of a torque sensor and a speed sensor provided on a shaft directly connecting a roller and a dynamometer and a sequential correction computing circuit of feedback control circuit. The steepest descent method is used so as to reduce the evaluation function to a minimum and to thereby sequentially compute the predicted output values of said dynamometer. The control system for the dynamometer is stable and superior in its quick response and simple in its circuit construction.
