  • Publication number: 20210018992
Abstract: A sensor system, which detects a stylus and is provided in an electronic apparatus, includes a first integrated circuit, a second integrated circuit, and an integrated circuit connection line that couples the first integrated circuit and the second integrated circuit to each other. The first integrated circuit is connected to a first sensor electrode group, and detects a position of the stylus on a panel face of a first housing. The second integrated circuit is connected to a second sensor electrode group, and detects a position of the stylus on a panel face of a second housing. When the first integrated circuit detects a presence of the stylus, a notification indicative of the detection is issued to the second integrated circuit through the integrated circuit connection line such that transmission of an uplink signal through the second sensor electrode group by the second integrated circuit is stopped.

  • Publication number: 20200341583
Abstract: A position detection circuit and position detection method are provided to enable more flexible position detection even if an object is present above a touch sensor. The position detection circuit is connected to a capacitive touch sensor formed with a plurality of line electrodes that are two-dimensionally arranged. At least one memory device stores processor-readable instructions that, when executed by at least one processor device, cause the position detection circuit to: recognize an electrically conductive object located above a touch sensor based on two-dimensional data indicating detection values regarding capacitance, and detect a touch position or touch area on the touch sensor based on the two-dimensional data using different touch detection conditions for an outside and an inside of an area where the object is present.

  • Patent number: 10795468
Abstract: A sensor system that detects a stylus is provided in an electronic apparatus, which includes a first housing, a second housing, a connector that connects the first housing and the second housing to each other, and a host processor. The sensor system includes a first sensor electrode group fixed to the first housing, and a second sensor electrode group fixed to the second housing. When the stylus is not detected, an uplink signal is transmitted through each of the first and second sensor electrode groups. When a downlink signal by which the stylus is detected that is transmitted from the stylus is detected by the first sensor electrode groups, the transmission of the uplink signal through the first sensor electrode group is continued while transmission of the uplink signal through the second sensor electrode groups is stopped.

  • Patent number: 6970180
Abstract: A video signal of a main screen is supplied from an input terminal (1) through a change-over switch (2) and an RGB drive circuit (3) to an image receiving tube (4). The video signal of a sub screen is also supplied to a sub screen signal production and control circuit (6) through an input terminal, compressed to an arbitrary size, and derived at an arbitrary positional timing to thereby produce the video signal of the sub screen. A command signal from a commanding unit is further supplied to a microcomputer (9) through an input terminal (8). In the microcomputer 9, the command signal mentioned above is supplied to a central processing unit (CPU) (10). The central processing unit produces a control signal indicating the displayed position of the sub screen or the like. In a part of the processing, the similarity and/or non-similarity of operation buttons is judged and a response time of the control is determined, whereby the actions can be carried out smoothly.

  • Patent number: 6380948
Abstract: A video signal of a sub-picture screen is supplied from an input terminal (5) via an adder (6) for superimposing display to a forming control circuit (7) for a sub-picture screen signal, and a sub-picture screen video signal, which is compressed to an arbitrary size, is synthesized with a video signal of a main picture screen from an input terminal (1) at a change-over switch (2). Further, in accordance with a command signal supplied to a microcomputer (10), a central processing unit (CPU) (11) produces a control signal which decides a size, a position and the like of display of sub-picture screen. Also, a signal from the central processing unit 11 is supplied to a display control circuit (12) which then produces a figure signal to be superimposed and displayed. Set values of size, position and the like of sub-picture screen display are recorded on and held by a random access memory (RAM) (13).

  • Patent number: 6201569
Abstract: A system and method for controlling a video display blanking signal so as to maintain a full display screen while minimizing interference with the displayed picture. To control the blanking signal one or more photosensors are placed at the periphery of the display screen. When a CRT overscans the screen at a sensor's location, the light from the CRT is incident on the sensor and the sensor generates a signal proportional to the amount of incident light. The sensor signal is used to adjust the CRT scan such that the CRT scan covers the screen but does not degrade the displayed picture.

  • Patent number: 5751373
Abstract: A method and apparatus by which function as of a television receiver can be selected simply. A main menu displays the highest level of a hierarchical menu which includes items corresponding to functions of a television receiver is displayed on a left side portion of a screen of the television receiver. When a cursor is moved to the first item of the main menu, while the main menu remains displayed on the screen, a sub menu corresponding to the first item is displayed on a right side portion of the screen. When the cursor is subsequently moved to one of the items forming the sub menu and then a predetermined operation is performed.

  • Patent number: 5285285
Abstract: Items related to the quality of an on-screen image such as brightness, sharpness, chroma, etc. and items related to the audio quality such as bass, treble, balance, etc. in a CRT display, such as a television receiver, are subject to adjustment by a user. These items are originally classified into those in a first class and those in a second class in accordance with the nature of a respective item, that is, whether a user must know the current analog value of the item before he or she adjusts it. When an instruction is input through user's manipulation to adjust the analog value of an item to be controlled, the system determines whether the item belongs to the first class or the second class. If it belongs to the first class, the system first confirms that the item and its actual analog value are displayed on a screen, then permits adjustment of the analog value in response to the instruction, and then displays a new analog value.
