  • Patent number: 7101068
Abstract: A water cloud evaluating device includes a partition member for partitioning an outer space of the vehicle lighting fixture into a front space and a rear space, vehicle outside environment simulation setting means and vehicle inside environment simulation setting means. In the bench test, the water cloud evaluation is made in the artificial environment close to the state where the vehicle lighting fixture is mounted on the actual vehicle. The partition member is formed with an opening portion in a sheet that is easily cuttable by a knife or the like. A water spray unit, an illumination unit and an air flow generating unit are made movable as the simulation setting units comprising both the simulation setting means.

  • Patent number: 6332697
Abstract: A vehicle lamp wherein a mounting member 20A for mounting and fixing a lamp unit 11 onto a vehicle body is projected from the outer surface of a synthetic-resin lamp body 12 forming part of the lamp unit 11. The mounting member 20A is formed of synthetic-resin and incorporated into the lamp body 12 by welding. A material greater in strength than the lamp body 12 is used as the material of the mounting member 20A to secure sufficient strength for the mounting member 20A. The quantity H of projection of the mounting member 20A from the outer surface of the lamp body 12 is made smaller than the quantity of projection of any conventional mounting member, so that the depth of a lamp chamber can be set greater.

  • Patent number: 6217202
Abstract: A vehicular lighting fixture having an improved appearance, wherein a lamp body and a lens are welded to each other and the inner face of the lamp body is subjected to a surface treatment. The vehicular lighting fixture (1) includes a lamp body (2) having a recess (3) with a front opening, a lens (8) attached to the lamp body (2) in such a manner as to cover the front opening, and a bulb (12) disposed in a lighting fixture space (10) defined by the lamp body (2) and the lens (8). The inner face (13) of the lamp body (2) is subjected to a surface treatment and the lamp body (2) and the lens (8) are connected with each other through their respective welding legs (6 and 9). A groove (7) is formed as a stepped portion inwardly of the welding leg (6) formed on the lamp body (2) to position a masking jig which masks the welding leg of the lamp body from the surface treatment. Also, the width of the legs (6 and 9) are different from each other.

  • Patent number: 6159317
Abstract: A vehicle lamp comprises: a lamp body made of synthetic resin having an opening; a flange extending sidewards from a peripheral portion of the opening of the lamp body of synthetic resin, and having a joining surface; a front lens made of synthetic resin; and a leg formed on a peripheral portion of a rear surface of the front lens, wherein the front lens is welded with the lamp body such that an end of the leg of the front lens is wedged into the joining surface of the flange of the lamp body, thus forming a weld of wedge type between the joining surface of the flange and the leg of the front lens.

  • Patent number: 6089731
Abstract: A fusion-welding leg in a vehicle lamp such that the fusion-welding leg of a front lens as one of the plastic members constituting the vehicle lamp is vibration-fusion-welded to the joint portion of a lamp body as the other plastic member. The inside of the front end of the fusion-welding leg is made substantially perpendicular to the joint surface on the lamp body side, and the outside thereof is tapered off to the leading end thereof so as to form a tapered surface.

  • Patent number: 6033505
Abstract: A method for vibration welding of lighting equipment for a vehicle, comprising the steps of: holding a lighting equipment body which is one synthetic resin-made component member of lighting equipment for a vehicle, in a body receiving jig; holding a front lens which is another synthetic resin-made component member thereof, in a lens receiving jig, the body receiving jig being provided with a stabilizing member whose hardness is higher than that of the lighting equipment body and which has a projection with a pointed tip; fixing the lighting equipment body in the body receiving jig and the front lens in the lens receiving jig and causing the stabilizing member to bite into a back surface of the lighting equipment body; and causing one of the body receiving jig and the lens receiving jig to vibrate so as to allow the lighting equipment body and the front lens to be vibration welded.

  • Patent number: 4656780
Abstract: An apparatus for reciprocably moving a desired object is disclosed as adapted for use as a vehicle door window regulator. Included is a drive ball assembly comprising a series of balls of a rigid plastic or like material threaded on a wire or like flexible, nonextensible member. One end of the drive ball assembly is anchored to a window panel. An elongate ball guide on a door frame guides the drive ball assembly along a vertical path. At the lower end of the vertical path is a drive wheel rotatably supported on the door frame and having a series of concavities defined peripherally therein for driving engagement with the balls of the drive ball assembly, the latter being preferably turned approximately right angularly around the drive wheel. By imparting bidirectional rotation to the drive wheel, either manually or by a reversible electric motor, the window panel can be moved up and down via the drive ball assembly.
