Publication number: 20090223596Abstract: A funnel having a stopper valve member for delivering a flowable material to a vessel. The funnel has an upper open bowl and a lower delivery tube having a fluid outlet. The valve member is arranged to move from an upper position inserted into the fluid outlet for stopping flow through said funnel to a position out of the tube outlet to permit generally unimpeded flow. Curved shoulders are provided within the bowl to induce a vortex flow on the material received by the funnel. The stopper valve is mounted on a resiliently mounted rod capable of being manually flexed downward and upward to move the stopper valve.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 7, 2008Publication date: September 10, 2009Inventor: Shih-Chun Wang

Patent number: 7532317Abstract: A system and method for efficiently and accurately determining grating profiles uses characteristic signature matching in a discrepancy enhanced library generation process. Using light scattering theory, a series of scattering signatures vs. scattering angles or wavelengths are generated based on the designed grating parameters, for example. CD, thickness and Line:Space ratio. This method selects characteristic portions of the signatures wherever their discrepancy exceeds the preset criteria and reforms a characteristic signature library for quick and accurate matching. A rigorous coupled wave theory can be used to generate a diffraction library including a plurality of simulated diffraction spectrums based on a predetermined structural parameter of the grating. The characteristic region of the plurality of simulated diffraction spectrums is determined based on if the root mean square error of the plurality of simulated diffraction spectrums is larger than a noise level of a measuring machine.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2005Date of Patent: May 12, 2009Assignees: Industrial Technology Research Institute, Nanometrics IncorporatedInventors: Nigel Smith, Yi-sha Ku, Shih Chun Wang, Chun-hung Ko

Publication number: 20070259312Abstract: A turbine for dental burr handpiece includes a turbine main body having an axial central bore with a pivot shaft fixedly connected thereto, and multiple circles of blade sets surrounding the main body. The blades on two adjacent blade sets are staggered in arrangement. For guiding air, each blade in each of the blade sets is provided at a radially inner end adjacent to a radially outer end of a preceding blade with an air guiding slot, and two axially outmost blade sets are provided between respective axial outer side and a corresponding outer end of the central bore with an annular recess. High-pressure air introduced into the dental burr handpiece sequentially strikes against the blades on the multiple circles of blade sets to thereby quickly, smoothly, and stably rotate the pivot shaft at high speed without causing high wind resistance and turbulence, or noise due to vibration.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2007Publication date: November 8, 2007Inventor: Shih Chun Wang

Patent number: 7108678Abstract: A captive cover for a hypodermic needle of an IV tube assembly has an elongated body connected to an element of the IV tube assembly. The elongated body is hollow and has a proximal opening, a closed distal end, a chamber, at least one locking tab and one or more optional connectors. The hypodermic needle of the IV tube assembly can be inserted through the proximal opening into the chamber. A flange on the hypodermic needle of the IV tube assembly is held in the captive cover by the locking tab. Since the hypodermic needle of the IV tube assembly only passes through the locking tab of the elongated body, the hypodermic needle of the IV tube assembly can be conveniently inserted into the elongated body. The captive cover can accommodate an ordinary hypodermic needle and has a simple structure.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2003Date of Patent: September 19, 2006Assignee: Biotop Holding Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hsin-Po Hsieh, Chi-Zer Ho, Shih-Chun Wang

Patent number: 6979314Abstract: A safety syringe has a hollow barrel, a plunger, a connector, a plug and a needle hub. The plunger has a protrusion extended from the plunger and along a longitudinal axis of the plunger. The connector is mounted around the protrusion of the plunger. Multiple limit stubs and multiple curved limit channels communicating with a corresponding notch with an inclined side-wall are respectively formed on the connector and a connecting chamber in a connecting tube of the needle hub. When the plunger is being pushed towards the needle hub, the multiple limit stubs respectively pass through the corresponding curved limit channel and are contained in the corresponding notch. The inclined side-wall of the notch will stably connect the limit stub so the plunger can stably retract the needle hub in the hollow barrel.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2003Date of Patent: December 27, 2005Assignee: Syriteck Medical Devices Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hsin-Po Hsieh, Chi-Zer Ho, Shih-Chun Wang

Patent number: 6976975Abstract: A safety syringe has a hollow barrel, a plunger, a connector, a plug and a needle hub. The plunger includes a socket to mount the connector. The connector has a needle connector protruded from the connector to connect with the needle hub. When the plunger is pushed toward the needle hub the first time, the needle hub of the connector is hidden in the socket and the plunger can not connect with the needle hub. When the plunger is pulled back and the syringe is full of medical solution, the needle hub of the connector protrudes from the socket. Pushing the plunger again toward the needle hub can connect the plunger and the needle hub together and the needle hub can retract back in the hollow barrel.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2003Date of Patent: December 20, 2005Assignee: Syriteck Medical Devices Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hsin-Po Hsieh, Chi-Zer Ho, Shih-Chun Wang

Publication number: 20050148944Abstract: A syringe safety sleeve has an inner sleeve and an outer sleeve. The inner sleeve selectively attaches to a conventional syringe and is slidably mounted inside the outer sleeve. The outer sleeve has an open proximal end and an open distal end. The inner sleeve has an open proximal end, an open distal end and a barrel connector formed on the open distal end. The open proximal end of the outer sleeve is selectively connected to the open proximal end of the inner sleeve when the outer sleeve is pull out from the inner sleeve. The barrel connector of the inner sleeve attaches to a conventional syringe. The syringe safety sleeve can accommodate ordinary syringes with no safety device to protect the used needle. The syringe safety sleeve can be conveniently connected to the syringe and has a simple structure.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 24, 2003Publication date: July 7, 2005Inventors: Hsin-Po Hsieh, Chi-Zer Ho, Shih-Chun Wang

Publication number: 20050080380Abstract: A safety syringe has a hollow barrel, a seal, a needle hub and a plunger. The plunger is mounted in the hollow barrel and has a needle retractor at one end. The seal has an axial circular through hole that is mounted around the plunger and has multiple detents. The hollow barrel has an inside surface and the seal has an outside surface, which correspond to each other and are non-circular. The plunger has detent protrusions corresponding to the detents in the seal to selectively hold the plunger is position. The needle hub with a needle is detachably mounted inside the hollow barrel and has an axial locking opening to engage the plunger. Since the plunger will not accidentally rotate, the protruding head on the plunger can be inserted precisely into the locking chamber of the needle hub and either engage or be withdrawn from the axial locking opening.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 14, 2003Publication date: April 14, 2005Inventors: Hsin-Po Hsieh, Chi-Zer Ho, Shih-Chun Wang
