    Abstract: A network device is provided, which is connected to a receiver. The network device includes a signal processing unit and a transceiver unit. Prior to occurrence of a hardware interrupt event, the signal processing unit detects the connection configuration between the network device and the receiver and outputs a temporary signal corresponding to the configuration of connection. The transceiver unit, which is connected to the signal processing unit and the receiver, receives and stores the temporary signal so that, when a hardware interrupt event occurs, the transceiver unit generates a dying gasp corresponding to the temporary signal and transmits the dying gasp to the receiver.

    Abstract: A pad circuit includes a pad, a gate driving circuit, a voltage selection circuit, and an ESD detection/avoiding circuit. The gate driving circuit is used to discharge the ESD induced current. The ESD detection/avoiding circuit is used to isolate the ESD induced voltage. The voltage selection circuit selects a higher voltage from a power/ground terminal and the pad and outputs it to the gate driving circuit, so that the pad circuit can be used for the programming and 1/0 operations.
