    Abstract: This invention is related to remote document access. More specifically, mobile device users are provided with the ability to easily access remote documents over a network such as the Internet, and to quickly view the content without resorting to a local download. By introducing streaming-on-demand and dividing the page into smaller segments, the invention significantly reduces bandwidth usage and speeds up the complete viewing process, since only data corresponding to the active viewing window is transmitted. As a result, resources are effectively utilized, and users seamlessly view documents. Moreover, users are able to easily identify documents by viewing thumbnails of original layouts and/or reading document content with an image quality that is very close to what is on their desktop. Without downloading the complete document onto a mobile device, this invention allows a mobile user to approve or forward the document to coworkers, and to print or fax the document on a nearby printer or fax machine.

An audio spectrogram generator is coupled to the video source for generating spectrograms for the audio information to check that the audio segments have been identified correctly by the audio classifier. A browser is coupled to the audio classifier for searching the classified audio segments for editing and browsing the video document. A method for editing and browsing a video, in accordance with the invention, includes providing a video clip including audio, and segmenting and labeling the audio into music, silence and speech classes in real-time.

A known camera calibration algorithm is utilized together with a set of specially designed markers for camera calibration and pose estimation of the markers. OpenGL and VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) for 3D virtual model rendering and superimposition. are utilized. Marker-based calibration is utilized to calibrate the camera and estimate the pose of the markers in the AR video editing system. A nonstationary time series model of difference metrics is used for shot boundary detention. Color and edge similarities are used for shot grouping. Observation about the structure of a wide class of videos are used for the generating the table of contents. The use of automatic processing in conjuction with input from the user provides a meaningful video organization.
