  • Patent number: 5302083
Abstract: A ceiling fan comprising upper and lower transparent dome-shaped light housings connected together by an annular ring. A neon light is positioned about the fan motor between the light housings such that illumination from the neon tube shines therethrough. Power supply electrical wires extend from the ceiling through the down rod of the fan, then through the hollow shaft of the motor into a switch housing. A light circuit is positioned within the switch housing and connected to the power supply electrical wires. High voltage electrical wires extend from the light circuit through the hollow shaft and to the neon light for powering the neon tube to cause illumination thereof.

  • Patent number: 5300871
Abstract: An induction motor speed control apparatus and method wherein various capacitors are switched in series with the auxiliary winding of an induction motor and, during such switching, the power source is disconnected from the main and auxiliary windings and the in-use capacitors are momentarily connected to the main winding to form a closed-loop discharge path through the main and auxiliary windings.

  • Patent number: 4850799
Abstract: A vibration damper for a suspended ceiling fan comprising a motor mounting and a frame support plate, totally enclosed in a vibration absorbing rubber compound. The motor mounting and frame support plates are separated by an annular space that forms an outward facing annular channel. Trapezoidal shaped reinforcement ribs located in the outward facing annular channel restrict swaying of the fan blades when the motor is energized. The damper may comprise two arcuate shaped members which allows easy installation on existing ceiling fans and easy disassembly when the fan motor needs maintenance or repairs.
