  • Publication number: 20240036807
Abstract: A computing system includes a virtual server to provide a remote desktop session that includes at least one remote app configured to generate notification sounds, and a client computing device to provide a local desktop session that includes at least one local app configured to generate notification sounds. The client computing device accesses the remote desktop session and launches one of the remote apps, and launches one of the local apps. The launched local app is the same as the launched remote app. The local and remote desktop sessions include respective local and remote sound controllers to intercept notification sounds generated by the local and remote apps. The local and remote sound controllers operate based on predetermined muting criteria so that one of the notification sounds is muted to avoid duplicated app notification sounds.

  • Publication number: 20230328147
Abstract: Methods and systems for sending notifications are described herein. A server may determine, a plurality of user devices that are connected with a user account. The server may a plurality of status reports. Each of the plurality of status reports may indicate a currently active level of a respective user device of the plurality of user devices. The server may select, based on analyzing the status reports, one or more user devices that are currently active. The server may cause, on the one or more user devices, display of a notification associated with the user account. In this way, the number of repeated notifications may be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20230214277
Abstract: A method for learning model based attribute impact analysis may include training a learning model to recognize a nexus between a name of a file and an attribute impacted by the file. The trained learning model may be applied to identify at least one attribute impacted by a file update including one or more files. A review may be performed of the at least one attribute impacted by the file update. Related systems and computer program products are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20230112212
Abstract: Aspects include a computing device, method and computer readable medium for controlling a magnifier in a virtual desktop session. A disclosed computing device includes: a memory storing instructions for controlling a magnifier in a virtual desktop session; and a processor coupled to the memory and configured to execute the instructions to perform processes including: initiating the magnifier in the virtual desktop session to magnify a portion of content displayed on a client device; and in response to detecting a change in at least one of an orientation of the client device or a distance between the client device and a user: adjusting a magnification level of the magnifier on the portion of the content or shifting the magnifier to magnify a distinct portion of the content displayed on the client device.

  • Patent number: 11373625
Abstract: Passive display devices such as a passive magnifying device (e.g., a screen magnifier) or a projector (e.g., a built-in mobile phone projector) are useful in enlarging photos, documents, videos, etc. for view for small-sized small-screen device screens. However, optimal content resolution for the small-screen device screens may not be optimal for the passive display devices. Particularly, when a small-screen device receives content from a remote computing device, the initial content resolution may not be optimal even for the small-screen device screen because of low transmission speed and/or low bandwidth of a connection with an original data source. Content resolution adjustment may be performed by determining distance between the passive display device and the small-screen device, calculating magnification ratio for the passive display device, and adjusting the content resolution based on the calculated magnification ratio.

  • Patent number: 11165755
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for providing privacy protection for video conference screen sharing. An example methodology implementing the techniques includes receiving a video stream of a first participant in a video conference session between at least the first participant and a second participant, wherein the first participant is associated with a first conference client device and the second participant is associated with a second conference client device, and determining that the first participant is performing screen sharing. The method also includes identifying a first item of content in the video stream to shield from being viewable during rendering of the video stream, obfuscating the identified first item of content in the video stream, and providing the video stream showing the obfuscated first item of content to the second conference client device to be rendered for display on a display device of the second conference client device.
