  • Publication number: 20240010807
Abstract: Provided is a method that efficiently forms a graft chain having a length the same as or greater than heretofore and/or that efficiently foams a graft layer having a thickness the same as or greater than those resulted from a known technique. A method for forming a graft layer according to an aspect of the present disclosure includes: a contact step of bringing a base member containing a polymer A into contact with a treatment liquid in which a compound B and a polymer C are contained in a solvent D; and, during the contact step, a polymerization step of graft-polymerizing the compound B onto the polymer A that constitutes at least a portion of the surface of the base member.

  • Publication number: 20230047677
Abstract: A manufacturing method of a sliding member for an artificial joint according to the present disclosure includes exposing a base member with ultraviolet rays in a state where the base member is in contact with an aqueous treatment solution containing a compound having 0.20 mol/L or more and less than 0.50 mol/L of phosphorylcholine group and a water-soluble inorganic salt.

  • Publication number: 20220017714
Abstract: A medical member includes a base material that is permeable to light; and a polymer layer having a phosphorylcholine group and located at least at a part of an inner surface of the base material. The part of the inner surface includes a first area irradiated with light of an intensity capable of forming the polymer layer when irradiated with light of a predetermined intensity from an outer surface side of the base material. Another medical member includes a base material that is permeable to light; and a polymer layer having a phosphorylcholine group and located at least at a part of an inner surface of the base material. The inner surface of the base material is irradiated with light of a light intensity of 3 mW/cm2 or less when light of a light intensity of 15 mW/cm2 or less enters from an outer surface side of the base material.

  • Publication number: 20210205495
Abstract: In a molding step as step A1, a polymer material is molded and a substrate having a predetermined shape is obtained. In a polymer film forming step as step A2, the obtained substrate is immersed in a treatment aqueous solution including a compound having a phosphorylcholine group and a water-soluble inorganic salt, and the substrate in that state is irradiated with an ultraviolet light to form on a surface of the substrate a polymer film including polymer chains caused by polymerization of the compound having a phosphorylcholine group. A method for manufacturing a sliding member for an artificial joint as mentioned above makes it possible to efficiently manufacture a sliding member for an artificial joint having excellent wear resistance.
