  • Publication number: 20130342816
Abstract: A second projector projects and displays a measurement pattern on a projection screen while a first projector projects and displays another measurement pattern on the projection screen. The second projector causes an imaging unit to acquire a captured image including projection images of the two measurement patterns are captured, and detects coordinates of measurement points which are represented in the measurement patterns from the captured image. The second projector corrects the projection target image based on the coordinates such that the projection image by the first projector and its own projection image are in a desired relationship.

  • Publication number: 20130235082
Abstract: A measurement pattern having a predetermined shape and L-shaped black areas are superimposed and output to a liquid crystal panel, and a pattern is detected from a taken pattern image. Lines are detected based on an image of a screen frame in the pattern image, and coordinate conversion factors for conversion of camera coordinates in the taken image into panel coordinates are calculated based on panel coordinate values of the pattern and camera coordinate values of the pattern detected from the pattern image. Then, apexes of the screen frame in the panel coordinates are obtained based on the lines and the conversion coordinate factors detected with respect to each corner, correction values are calculated, and trapezoidal distortion correction is performed.

  • Patent number: 8456482
Abstract: There is provided a gamma curve adjustment device used to adjust the gamma curve indicating the relationship of input tone values to output tone values for use in a gamma correction circuit that performs gamma correction of an image signal. The gamma curve adjustment device includes a user interface module that permits a user to specify desired output tone values for a plurality of pre-established adjustment points on the gamma curve, and an adjustment module that adjusts the gamma curve such that the output tone value at each adjustment point assumes the value specified through the user interface module. The plurality of adjustment points are established such that a differential of input tone values between a first set of two adjustment points situated adjacently on the gamma curve differs from a differential of input tone values between a second set of two adjustment points situated adjacently on the gamma curve.

  • Patent number: RE43721
Abstract: The projector comprises an image forming panel that forms an effective panel image for modulating the light into an image light in an image forming area of a panel surface, and an image capturing unit for capturing a specific projection area wherein the image light corresponding to a specific area in the image forming area is projected. The projector calculates one or more edges of the outside perimeter lines of the screen and of the specific projection area by detecting plural points in a captured image. Based on the detection results, a post-correction image forming area is calculated, and trapezoidal distortion is corrected by forming the effective panel image within the post-correction image forming area. When only three or less of the four edges of the outside perimeter lines of the screen are detected, the projector calculates the post-correction image forming area based on the position and slope of the detected edge within the captured image.
