  • Publication number: 20130193250
Abstract: A dual-bearing reel includes a reel unit, a spool, a handle, a clutch mechanism, a clutch operation member, a clutch return mechanism, and a clutch control mechanism. The clutch control mechanism includes a clutch plate that moves in conjunction with movement of the clutch operation member from the on position to the off position and causes the clutch operation member to move from the off position to the on position in conjunction with the operation of the clutch return mechanism. The clutch operation member includes a contact portion at which the clutch operation member contacts at least first end surfaces of the clutch plate. The contact portion includes a first contact portion that is urged to the side of the reel unit by the clutch plate when the clutch operation member is moved from the off position to the on position by the clutch plate.

  • Publication number: 20130181081
Abstract: A dual-bearing reel spool brake device configured to brake a spool being rotatably mounted to a reel unit by centrifugal force is provided. The dual-bearing reel spool break device includes a rotary member, a brake shoe, and a brake drum. The rotary member is configured to be rotated in conjunction with at least rotation of the spool in a fishing-line releasing direction. The brake shoe is elastically engaged with the rotary member, wherein the brake shoe is pivotable and detachable with the rotary member. The brake drum is disposed radially inwards or radially outwards of the brake shoe, wherein the brake drum has a peripheral surface contactable with the brake shoe.

  • Publication number: 20130161435
Abstract: A dual-bearing reel for forwardly releasing a fishing line includes a reel unit, a handle, a spool shaft, a spool, and a rotary operation knob. The reel unit includes a frame, a first cover, a second cover, and a shaft support part. The first cover has a recess and a circular opening formed in the recess. The shaft support part is mounted to the first cover, and is relatively rotatable to the first cover. The shaft support part is pivotable between an attachment position and a detachment position. The shaft support part has a knob portion disposed astride the opening. The spool is mounted to the spool shaft to be rotated in conjunction with rotation of the handle. The rotary operation knob is disposed concentrically to the spool shaft in a position where the knob portion is disposed axially outside and astride the rotary operation knob.

  • Publication number: 20130161433
Abstract: A dual-bearing reel drag regulation mechanism includes a drag regulation lever including an attachment potion configured to pivot about a rotation axis of the spool between a free position and a maximum position, an operating portion extending from the attachment portion to a tip of the drag regulation lever, and an intermediate positioning mechanism including a positioning member. The positioning member is retractably attached to the lateral surface of the reel unit at an intermediate position between the free position and the maximum position. The positioning member is arranged to be in a protruding state or a retracting state. The intermediate positioning mechanism is configured to cause the positioning member to make contact at the intermediate position with a contact portion of the operating portion in pivoting the drag regulation lever, when the positioning member is in the protruding state.

  • Publication number: 20130139639
Abstract: A bicycle operating device is provided with a base member, a brake operating lever and a shift operating lever. The shift operating lever moves from a rest position in a second direction to perform a gear shift operation in response to operation of the shift operating lever by the user. The shift operating lever has a handlebar engagement portion that is moved by a handlebar of the bicycle relative to the brake operating lever in a third direction toward the brake operating lever to move closer to the brake operating lever when the brake operating lever is pivoted in the first direction by the user. The third direction is a non-shifting direction that is different from the first and second directions. The shift operating lever does not perform the gear shifting operation when moved in the third direction by the handlebar of the bicycle.
