Publication number: 20230283332Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a base station may identify a null space matrix that lies within a null space of an effective channel matrix for communications between the base station and a user equipment (UE). An indication of the null space matrix may be provided to the UE, and the null space matrix used to determine modifications to a precoding matrix. The base station and UE may determine a redistribution matrix that provides a reduced variance of transmission powers for a number of transmission channels, where a product of the null space matrix and the redistribution matrix may be computed and added to the precoding matrix to generate a modified precoding matrix. The modified precoding matrix may be used to generate the communications from the base station and UE with reduced power variance across channels.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 23, 2023Publication date: September 7, 2023Inventors: Saeid SAHRAEI, Gokul SRIDHARAN, Shimman Arvind PATEL, Krishna Kiran MUKKAVILLI, June NAMGOONG, Taesang YOO, Renqiu WANG

Patent number: 11743871Abstract: Various techniques for narrowband communications in a wireless communications network are provided. Narrowband communications may be transmitted using a single resource block (RB) of a number of RBs used for wideband communications. In order to provide for efficient device discovery and synchronization using narrowband communications, a synchronization signal, such as a primary synchronization signal (PSS) or secondary synchronization signal (SSS), may be transmitted within the single resource block. The synchronization signal may be transmitted, for example, using multiple orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols within the single RB. A common reference signal (CRS) may also be present in the single resource block, which may puncture the synchronization signal, in some examples. In other examples, the synchronization signal may be mapped to non-CRS symbols of the single resource block.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 2020Date of Patent: August 29, 2023Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Alberto Rico Alvarino, Wanshi Chen, Seyed Ali Akbar Fakoorian, Peter Gaal, Shimman Arvind Patel, Madhavan Srinivasan Vajapeyam, Renqiu Wang, Jing Lei, Hao Xu

Patent number: 11729050Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify one or more radio frequency (RF) spectrum bands for full-duplex communications, and may signal an indication of the UE's capability to support full-duplex communications for each RF spectrum band. Publication number: 20230254885Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A receiving device (such as a user equipment (UE)) may receive from a transmitting device (such as a base station), a configuration of full duplex communication resources for a set of slots. The receiving device may receive a pre-emption indication identifying that at least a portion of the full duplex communication resources in one or more slots of the set of slots is unavailable for communication, and may determine a remaining portion of the full duplex communication resources in the one or more slots based on the received pre-emption indication. The receiving device may then communicate with the transmitting device using the remaining portion of the full duplex communication resources.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 1, 2021Publication date: August 10, 2023Inventors: Ahmed Attia ABOTABL, Muhammad Sayed Khairy ABDELGHAFFAR, Alexandros MANOLAKOS, Wanshi CHEN, Hung Dinh LY, Tingfang JI, Shimman Arvind PATEL, Krishna Kiran MUKKAVILLI

Patent number: 11722969Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine separate uplink (UL) power limitations for multiple transmission time interval (TTI) durations based on distinct power control parameters. In some cases, an adjustment factor or a power backoff may be applied to communications using one TTI duration to ensure that total transmit power does not exceed a threshold. The UE and the serving base station may also identify one or more demodulation reference signal (DMRS) windows. UL data transmissions may be demodulated based on a DMRS sent during the same window. Transmit power control (TPC) commands may be applied at the beginning of each window. However, if an UL transmission is scheduled at the beginning of the window, the UE may wait until a DMRS transmission or until no more transmissions are scheduled for the window before applying the TPC adjustment.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2021Date of Patent: August 8, 2023Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Shimman Arvind Patel, Wanshi Chen, Peter Gaal, Hao Xu, Michael Mao Wang

Patent number: 11722287Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may identify multiple regions within a subframe, such as one or more uplink regions, one or more downlink regions, and a guard region. The wireless device may identify and communicate during each region based on a timing relationship between the downlink region and the uplink region. For example, the device may expect hybrid automated repeat request (HARQ) feedback for one downlink region in the same subframe based on the proximity to the next uplink region. Another downlink region may not have HARQ feedback in the same subframe. Similarly, uplink regions may or may not be scheduled within the same subframe.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2016Date of Patent: August 8, 2023Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Wanshi Chen, Shimman Arvind Patel, Aleksandar Damnjanovic, Peter Gaal

Publication number: 20230232404Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Data may be received during transmission time intervals (TTIs) that have a short duration relative to other TTIs. The short-duration TTIs may occur within or overlap a longer duration TTI, such as a subframe. Feedback responsive to the data may be generated and assigned for transmission during an uplink TTI according to a feedback timing or delay, which may be selected to reduce latency or balance the payload size of uplink messages sent during the assigned uplink TTI. Data and feedback assignments in short-duration TTIs may be configured based on a time division duplexing (TDD) configuration for some TTIs (e.g., subframes). TTIs that are a Long Term Evolution (LTE) subframe, an LTE slot, and a duration of two LTE symbol periods may be supported. Portions of special TTIs may be used for transmissions according to shorter-duration TTIs.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 8, 2023Publication date: July 20, 2023Inventors: Shimman Arvind Patel, Wanshi Chen, Juan Montojo, Jing Sun, Seyedkianoush Hosseini

Patent number: 11677603Abstract: Wireless communications systems may configure a subset of allocated resources (e.g., one or more resource elements (REs) of one or more allocated resource blocks (RBs)) as peak reduction tones (PRTs) for a peak-cancelation signal. For instance, wireless communications systems may configure a fixed PRT allocation based on a Costas array. In some examples, each column of a Costas array may correspond to a RB of a set of allocated resources. A transmitting device may thus identify one or more PRT REs based on the Costas array and a mapping of allocated RBs to the columns of the Costas array. For instance, a transmitting device may identify a pattern of PRT REs to use for a peak-cancellation signal based at least in part on a configured Costas array (e.g., where the peak-cancellation signal may reduce peaks of a corresponding data signal to ultimately reduce peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of a transmission).Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2021Date of Patent: June 13, 2023Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Saeid Sahraei, June Namgoong, Krishna Kiran Mukkavilli, Naga Bhushan, Tingfang Ji, Peter Gaal, Taesang Yoo, Gokul Sridaran, Shimman Arvind Patel
