Patent number: 7677787Abstract: A mixing degree adjusting device comprises a pair of spacer members arranged at a position sandwiching both round sectional portions of a pair of screws from both sides in the aligning direction of the pair of screws, and a pair of drawing members arranged as a position sandwiching both the round sectional portions from both sides in the orthogonal direction that is orthogonal to the aligning direction. The spacer members are movable between an adjusting position opposing to the round sectional portions, and a retracting position, when the screws are extracted from the barrel, for retracting to the outside until the passage of the screws is accepted. Opposing portions opposing to the round sectional portions at the time of moving to the adjusting position are formed in a substantially linear shape extending in parallel with the orthogonal direction seen from the axial direction of the screws.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2006Date of Patent: March 16, 2010Assignee: Kobe Steel, Ltd.Inventors: Yasuaki Yamane, Shin Hotani, Yoshinori Kuroda, Koichi Miyake, Katsunori Takahashi, Taiji Orimo

Patent number: 7637650Abstract: In a continuous mixer, a chamber formed in a barrel comprising a feed port for feeding raw material to be mixed on one end side and a discharge port for discharging mixed material on the other end side. A pair of screw provided in the chamber has a feed part for conveying raw material to be mixed which is fed through the feed port and a mixing part for mixing the raw material. The barrel is provided with a raw material discharge port for communicating the position corresponding to the feed part in the chamber to the outside of the barrel, and an opening/closing cover for freely opening and closing the raw material discharge port. The screw can be rotated reversibly. Even though large amounts of raw materials to be mixed may stay in the chamber due to an emergency stop, the raw materials can be easily discharged from the raw material discharge port.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 2004Date of Patent: December 29, 2009Assignee: Kobe Steel, Ltd.Inventors: Hiroshi Ueda, Kazuyoshi Imuta, Masahiko Kashiwa, Shoji Yasuda, Shin Hotani

Patent number: 7097345Abstract: A screw with a heat exchange function is rotatably fit in a barrel, and includes a heat exchange medium chamber located at a center section in the radial direction, running along the lengthwise direction. The chamber stores a heat exchange medium supply pipe supplying a heat exchange medium. The heat exchange medium supply pipe is constituted by split pipes split into two or more sections in the lengthwise direction. Pipe connection joints connect the split pipes with each other while securing such degrees of freedom so that these split pipes can move by predetermined quantity in the lengthwise direction and the radial direction. The screw enables to stably supply a heat exchange medium for a long period without fatigue fracture of a heat exchange medium supply pipe even if the screw is bent during mixing and extrusion of a raw material.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2004Date of Patent: August 29, 2006Assignee: Kobe Steel, Ltd.Inventors: Hiroshi Ueda, Kazuyoshi Imuta, Masahiko Kashiwa, Shoji Yasuda, Shin Hotani
