Patent number: 11929045Abstract: A display may have an array of pixels such as liquid crystal display pixels. The display may include short pixel rows that span only partially across the display and full-width pixel rows that span the width of the display. The gate lines coupled to the short pixel rows may extend into the inactive area of the display. Supplemental gate line loading structures may be located in the inactive area of the display to increase loading on the gate lines that are coupled to short pixel rows. The supplemental gate line loading structures may include data lines and doped polysilicon that overlap the gate lines in the inactive area. In displays that combine display and touch functionality into a thin-film transistor layer, supplemental loading structures may be used in the inactive area to increase loading on common voltage lines that are coupled to short rows of common voltage pads.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2023Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Shin-Hung Yeh, Abbas Jamshidi Roudbari, Ting-Kuo Chang

Patent number: 8922964Abstract: A motor controller with a reverse-bias preventing mechanism includes a pre-charging unit, a protection unit, a conversion unit and a control unit. The pre-charging unit receives a power signal through a first electric-conduction path, and converts the power signal into a pre-charging signal according to a control signal. The protection unit receives the power signal through a second electric-conduction path, and determines whether to output the power signal, according to the polarity of the power signal. The conversion unit, coupled to the protection unit, receives the power signal outputted by the protection unit, and converts the power signal into a work voltage. The control unit, coupled to the conversion unit and the pre-charging unit, receives the work voltage to generate the control signal. The current of the power signal flowing through second electric-conduction path is smaller than the current flowing through first electric-conduction path.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2012Date of Patent: December 30, 2014Assignee: Industrial Technology Research InstituteInventors: Kun-Lun Chuang, Shin-Hung Chang, Tshaw-Chuang Chen

Patent number: 6864901Abstract: A real-time screen recording system is disclosed. Under the design of the real-time screen recording system of this invention, the Event Inspector records updated regions of the screen when a windows update event is generated, the Periodical Extractor records the screen updates periodically. This mechanism ensures that all updates will be recorded. The Event Filter inspects the update events to identify events relating to updates of screen to ensure correct recording of the updated regions. The Sporadic Controller adjusts the working frequency of the Periodical Extractor, so that the Periodical Extractor operates in an efficient manner. The Update Region Filter filters out unnecessary updated regions to avoid heavy workload of the computer system. As a result, an efficient and correct screen recording system may be achieved.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2003Date of Patent: March 8, 2005Assignee: Academia SinicaInventors: Shin-Hung Chang, Shao-Ting Lee, Jan-Ming Ho
