  • Patent number: 4802045
Abstract: In a tape cartridge of the Philips type, one or more ribs are projected from a main plate of each case half at regions except for the tape chamber and the tape path so as to conform to one or more flow lines of resin when each half of molded, the cartridge is so that the formation of traces of resin can be prevented, resulting in an increase in mechanical strength of the cartridge.

  • Patent number: 4735378
Abstract: In a tape cartridge having a magnetic shielding plate, there are provided one or more supporting or receiving ribs for supporting one or more portions of the rear face of the magnetic shielding plate, preferably at the left and right portions thereof, and one or more guide ribs corresponding to but away from the supporting ribs a distance slightly greater than the thickness of the magnetic shielding plate, such that the shielding plate can be inserted into the gap between the one or more supporting ribs and the one or more guide ribs. Moreover, there is provided one or more pressing ribs having a vertical straight wall at a root portion of the rear face of the guide ribs so that the magnetic shielding plate is pressedly inserted between the straight wall of the pressing ribs and the supporting ribs for securing the magnetic shielding plate.

  • Patent number: 4337493
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a magnetic recording tape cartridge having a tape chamber for containing a recording tape, the intermediate portion of the recording tape being adapted to advance along a predetermined path defined along a plurality of openings defined in the front wall of the chamber. A magnetic shielding plate and pad device composed of a resilient plate are positioned in the tape chamber disposed to face one of the openings to which a recording tape head of a tape player is inserted and a pair of stepped ribs are provided extending in a backward direction from positions near the front wall with such a height that portions of the ribs are closely opposed to the bottom edge of the plate of the pad device so that the pad device is held in the required position. The ribs are further designed to support the level of the recording tape and secure the positioning of the shielding plate.

  • Patent number: 4108398
Abstract: A magnetic recording tape cartridge which includes partition walls protrusively provided, behind a central opening for insertion of a magnetic recording and reproducing head on the front side of upper and lower cases, said partition walls being extended at their both ends to positions behind the two openings for insertion of a pinch roller and an erasing head on both sides of the central opening, each of said partitions walls being so disposed as to couple at its front surface with the back of U-shaped guide walls provided protrusively on the case opposite to at least one of said openings, so as to ensure suppressing of the deformation of the case caused by warping and allow smooth running of the magnetic recording tape accommodated in the tape cartridge.
