  • Patent number: 8113884
Abstract: A connector capable of easily forming shield members which can be attached to a housing comprises a socket capable of fitting into the plug, plural socket terminals capable of electrically connecting the plug when the plug fits into the socket, a pair of tabular first socket side shield members covering the front face portion and the back face portion of the socket respectively, and a pair of the first attachment grooves respectively at both ends in the width direction of the front and the back face portions. The first attachment grooves can be inserted into and hold both ends in the width direction of the first socket side shield members. Therefore, it becomes possible to attach the first socket side shield members without having a lock piece, etc., at the first socket side shield members. The first socket side shield members can be formed easily.

  • Publication number: 20100035469
Abstract: A low-cost connector comprises a pair of first socket side shields covering two outer surfaces of a socket along a direction a terminal extends. The first socket side shield members are detachable from the socket. A pair of second socket side shield members cover two other outer surfaces of the socket in the back-and-forth direction. Thus, the outer surfaces of the socket can be covered by the second socket side shield members and the first socket side shield members according to dimensions of the terminal in the direction the terminal extends. Accordingly, if the dimensions of socket in the direction the terminal extends differ according to a number of terminals, it is easier and cheaper to manufacture shield members than to cover the socket outer surfaces by one shield member.

  • Patent number: 7108552
Abstract: A high speed transmission connector includes a base board side connector and a cable side connector to be connected with each other and a metal shell which covers a housing and contacts arranged in the housing. By inserting the metal shell of the cable side connector into the metal shell of the base board side connector, the contacts and the metal shells are respectively connected electrically. The metal shell of the base board connector includes a recess portion for adjusting a space between the metal shell and the contact in the base board side connector. With this invention, the characteristic impedance can be adjusted with an easy method and can sufficiently cope with the miniaturization of the connector and with a higher density.

  • Patent number: 6690540
Abstract: A disk drive damper avoids matching a frequency band of a sound frequency peak generated by the rotation of a spindle motor and a resonant frequency of the damper. The damper is attached to a disk drive apparatus and enabled to repress vibration. The damper includes a flat base portion and wall-thickness portions that are thicker than the flat base portion. The damper is varied in shape more freely than conventional flat dampers. Consequently, the resonant frequency of the damper can be adjusted more freely than ever.

  • Patent number: 6342743
Abstract: A bearing mechanism of the present invention has a first bearing and a second bearing disposed at different positions in an axial direction. Each bearing has an inner race, an outer race, and balls. A shaft holds the inner races of both bearings in an axially separated manner, while a supporting member holds the outer races of both bearings in an axially separated manner. The balls of the bearings have a different coefficient of linear expansion than that of the inner and outer races. The inner and outer races of each of the bearings are fixed in an axially shifted manner, whereby pre-loaded pressures are applied between both the inner race and the balls, and between both the outer race and the balls. As the temperature changes, the supporting member has a compensation member that can change a distance between the outer races in a changing ratio different from a changing ratio of the distance between the inner races.

  • Patent number: 6287151
Abstract: An electrical connector is adapted for manipulation by a vacuum-suction nozzle. The connector includes a dielectric housing having a top surface. A plurality of terminals are mounted on the housing. Each terminal has a spring contact arm extending above the top surface of the housing. The terminals are arranged into a plurality of distinct groups. The spring contact arms of the terminals in one group are oriented different from the spring contact arms of the terminals in at least one other group. The groups are arranged to leave a surface area of the housing top surface of a size sufficient for engagement by the vacuum-suction nozzle.

  • Publication number: 20010008811
Abstract: A card connector is obtained which can realize a small size and a low profile of an apparatus. The connector comprises a plurality of pins and a support member. The pin has a card-connecting section connected to a PC card, and a board-installing section installed to a circuit board. The pin has a card-connecting section side bent section and a board-installing section side bent section. The position of the card-connecting section is lower than that of a section disposed between the card-connecting section side bent section and the board-installing section side bent section. In this arrangement, the support member is formed such that the position of a lower outer wall surface of a slot section is lower by a height hc than the position of a lower surface of a board-installing section support section for supporting the board-installing section.

  • Patent number: 6155863
Abstract: An electrical connector is provided for mating with a complementary mating connector and is adapted for manipulation by a vacuum-suction nozzle. The connector includes a housing mounting a plurality of terminals and including a surface area of a size sufficient for engagement by the vacuum-suction nozzle. An opening is provided in the surface area for receiving a portion of the mating connector. A frangible seal hermetically seals the opening to allow the vacuum-suction nozzle to apply negative air pressure to the surface area over the opening. The seal is breakable to allow the portion of the mating connector to enter the opening.

  • Patent number: 6137658
Abstract: An apparatus to guide and lock a rotary actuator at a limiting rotational angle in a disk storage. A rotary actuator is attached within a housing so that it is rotatable on a pivot shaft. An iron piece is rotated integrally with the rotary actuator and is attracted in magnetic cooperation with a lock magnet. A retract magnet is attached to housing and assists in rotation of the actuator during an unload operation in which the rotary actuator is removed to a load/unload ramp.
