    Abstract: A controller for an actuator includes a lock detecting unit configured to detect a lock state of a motor and an abnormality detecting unit configured to detect an abnormality of the actuator. The abnormality detecting unit determines that an abnormality of the actuator is detected when it is determined that an operating position of the actuator does not change between a first lock position at which the lock state of the motor in a first rotation direction is detected and a second lock position at which the lock state of the motor in a second rotation direction is detected.
