  • Patent number: 5906208
Abstract: The apparatus has: electrodes (E.sub.1 to E.sub.6) which are to be attached to a predetermined region of a living body; a skin potential measuring unit (1) which detects the skin potential from the electrodes; a judging unit (3) which detects and stores the skin potential before administration of an anesthetic agent, which detects and stores that after administration of the anesthetic agent, which sets a threshold to be an arbitrary level, on the basis of a change from the stored skin potential before administration of the anesthetic agent to the stored skin potential after administration of the anesthetic agent, and which compares the time-varying skin potential with the threshold, thereby judging the depth of anesthesia; and an alarm unit (6) which raises an alarm in accordance with instructions from the judging unit.

  • Patent number: 5821280
Abstract: A process for producing a conductive composition for a biological electrode wherein casting or injection is preformed while maintaining the flowability of the feedstock solution to thereby enable the molding of the solid gel into a desired shape. A process for producing a conductive gel composition for a biological electrode having a function of electrically and physically connecting a living body to an electrode element and comprising at least the following components:(1) a radical-polymerizable unsaturated compound;(2) an acid reacting with NaOH or KOH to thereby give a reaction product which is a moisturizer serving as a plasticizer and having a function of supplementing and promoting the physiological humidifying function of the horny layer;(3) water;(4) NaOH and/or KOH;(5) a photopolymerization or light polymerization initiator; and(6) a crosslinking agent.

  • Patent number: 5467768
Abstract: A multi-purpose sensor a single unit is capable of measuring both electric signals from the object and pressures at the same time and which yet is compact, lightweight and cheap enough to be used as a disposable product. Element in a disk form that is composed of carbon fibers superposed in layers at low density to produce a felt-like texture is surrounded with concentric cylindrical holder. Terminal is connected to an end face of each of element and holder whereas terminal is connected to the other end face, whereby the deformation of element due to an externally applied force is picked up as a voltage change.
