  • Patent number: 5200738
Abstract: A method of data display for a system which includes a main image memory having stored therein data representing a main image, a display memory coupled to temporarily hold data transferred thereto form the main image memory, and a display apparatus for displaying at least a selected portion of the data held in the display memory, whereby while scrolling is being executed in the horizontal or vertical display direction, new data are transferred from the main image memory to the display memory only when the limits of the data currently held in the display memory are exceeded, and with only data for one display line or column being transferred in such a case.

  • Patent number: 5195175
Abstract: An image synthesizing system provided with an interpolation circuit for interpolating data of neighboring pixels of a multi-level picture, a decompression circuit for converting data representing characters and graphic forms into data of pixels thereof, a first look-up table unit for converting the data of pixels composing the characters and graphic forms into data representing gradation levels of a four-color halftone, a second look-up table unit for outputting control data for synthesis which includes halftone-dot pattern information used to indicate halftone-dot patterns corresponding to the characters and the graphic forms and region discriminating information used to indicate which of the characters and the graphic forms should be clipped, a multi-level picture and bi-level element comparison circuits, which are independent of each other, respectively converting the multi-level picture and the bi-level characters and graphic forms into bi-level dot patterns and a selecting circuit for selectively outputt

  • Patent number: 4412082
Abstract: A novel process for preparing 4-hydroxyphenylacetic acid which is useful as an intermediate for pharmaceutical is provided. A method for preparing 4-hydroxyphenylacetic acid comprising the steps of first reacting benzyl phenyl ether with formaldehyde and hydrogen chloride to form 4-benzyloxybenzyl chloride, second reacting the resultant 4-benzyloxybenzyl chloride with an alkali metal cyanide in at least one solvent selected from the group consisting of water and an organic solvent to form 4-benzyloxyphenylacetonitrile, and hydrolyzing the resultant 4-benzyloxyphenylacetonitrile in the presence of an acid catalyst.
