The spindle motor including: a rotary member; and a fixed member rotatably supporting the rotary member by fluid dynamic pressure, wherein upper radial dynamic pressure generating grooves and lower radial dynamic pressure generating grooves are formed in at least one of surfaces of the rotary member and the fixed member facing each other in a radial direction, and thrust dynamic pressure generating grooves are formed in at least one of surfaces of the rotary member and the fixed member facing each other in an axial direction. In the thin spindle motor, a burden of slope rigidity may be transferred from the radial bearing to the thrust bearing so that the rotary member can have slope rigidity enough to be returned to its original position, when the rotary member is sloped to one side.
