  • Patent number: 7478804
Abstract: The paper feeding apparatus includes a manual feed tray, a spindle, a rotation lever, a cam, an operation shaft, a projection portion, an operation arm, and a stopper. The paper feeding apparatus is able to switch to/from automatic and manual paper feeds for stable loading of paper on the paper loading board and manual paper feed. The manual feed tray is openable/closable by turning around the spindle. The rotation lever and the cam are fixed on the operation shaft. When the manual feed tray is opened, the projection portion pushes the rotation lever. When the manual feed tray is closed, the cam touches the backside of the operation arm and the stopper rises. When the manual feed tray is opened, the rotation lever is pushed by the projection portion and the cam rotates in the clockwise direction separating from the backside of the operation arm. • Publication number: 20090019216
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention help to suppress adverse effects on the host computer operation caused by saving a segment table. According to one embodiment, a hard disk drive (HDD) creates a segment table to associate addresses of user data in a flash memory with LBAs in a magnetic disk. The HDD updates the segment table in a DRAM and saves it to the flash memory at a specific timing. The HDD creates a journal indicating an update of the segment table and saves it to the flash memory. The segment table and the journal in the flash memory enable the latest segment table to be restored. If the HDD receives a predetermined command from a host computer, it saves the segment table in the DRAM into the flash memory.

  • Patent number: 7474849
Abstract: A video camera having a power-On recording standby mode, a power-On recording disabled mode, and a power-saving mode, in addition to power-OFF mode. The power-saving mode is a state in which the time taken to shift to said recording standby mode is shorter than the time taken to shift from power-OFF mode. Switching to the power-saving mode is inhibited when recording on the recording medium is not possible, thereby improving the operability of the video camera for the user. The user is prevented from attempting to record during power saving mode.

  • Patent number: 7441872
Abstract: To prevent leakage of ink in an ink tank from an air inflow port formed in an ink cartridge, an accommodating section in which an ink absorbing member is disposed is provided outside the ink cartridge so that the ink absorbing member opposes the air inflow port of the ink cartridge. The accommodating section is fluidly connected to the air inflow port of the ink cartridge and formed with an atmosphere communication hole in communication with atmosphere. Thus, ink leaked out through the air inflow port can be absorbed by the ink absorbing member and air can be introduced into the ink tank for an amount corresponding to an amount of ink supplied to a recording head.
