  • Patent number: 6394898
Abstract: A loop track for race horses is disposed at the center of a horse race game device. Twelve race horses run on the track. A gate is disposed in a paddock in the track. The gate is advanced to a start point of the track from the paddock. Twelve satellites are disposed on three sides of the track. A large projector for displaying images of developments, etc. of a race is disposed on one of the short sides of the track. Speakers for live broadcasting, fanfares, BGM, etc. are disposed on both sides of the large projector. The horse race game device enables a larger number of running objects to be raced at once, whereby race developments are made more amusing.

  • Patent number: 6362863
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes alignment control layers provided on the inner sides of the substrates and having a saw-tooth cross-section with slopes inclinating at an angle relative to the substrate. The device also has alignment layers covering the alignment control layers and in contact with the liquid crystal. The alignment layers are alignment-treated in a conventional method, and provide a pretilt angle of the liquid crystal. The slope of the alignment control layer acts to increase the pretilt angle.

  • Publication number: 20020021401
Abstract: To improve response characteristics of liquid crystal molecules to an electric field at the time of a switching operation in an MVA mode liquid crystal display device. A concentration of a photo-cured product by a photo-curing composition having a liquid skeletal structure for liquid crystal molecules upon spray or bend deformation is set to 0.3 to 3 wt %, the liquid crystal skeletal structure is formed under the tilt state to substrates, and a mean tilt angle of the liquid crystal molecules falls within a range defined by a polar angle of the liquid crystal skeletal structure and a pre-tilt angle of the liquid crystal molecules in the proximity of the substrate interface.

  • Publication number: 20020015126
Abstract: A first electrode and a second electrode for defining pixels are formed on the opposed surfaces of a first substrate and a second substrate, respectively. A first projecting pattern is formed on the surface of the first electrode. A domain boundary control means is formed on the opposite surface of the second substrate. The first electrode and the first projecting pattern are covered by a first alignment film. The second electrode and the domain boundary control means are covered by a second alignment film. The first and second alignment films differ from each other in at least one of such characteristics as the film thickness, material and surface activity. After an ac voltage has been applied between the first and second electrodes, a dc voltage remaining between the first and second alignment films is lower than a dc voltage that would remain is such characteristics were equal.

  • Publication number: 20010043305
Abstract: A liquid crystal display having a first substrate on which a pixel electrode is formed, a second substrate on which an opposed electrode opposed to the first pixel electrode is formed, and a liquid crystal sealed in the space between the first and second substrates, wherein the interval between the pixel electrode and the opposed electrode in the area near the edge of the pixel electrode is longer than that in the other area than the area near the edge of the pixel electrode. Therefore the liquid crystal display has good display characteristics. A method for manufacturing such a liquid crystal display is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6288762
Abstract: A vertically aligned liquid crystal display device includes, in addition to first and second principal domains in which liquid crystal molecules tilt in opposite directions in response to an application of a driving electric field, a micro-domain between the first and second principal domains such that the liquid crystal molecules tilt in a direction perpendicular to any of the tilting directions in the first and second principal domains.

  • Patent number: 5879235
Abstract: A roulette-like ball game machine has a rotary disk with a plurality of pockets arranged in a peripheral direction and assigned a number respectively, and a guide circle provided around the rotary disk at a somewhat higher position and joining to the rotary disk through an inclined surface. While the rotary disk is turned, a ball rolled along the guide circle falls inside and enters one of the pockets to decide a prize number. In such a ball game machine, a plurality of operation stands are arranged around the guide circle, the rotary disk is formed in an annular shape having a large inner diameter, a large-sized picture surface is provided within the central space of the rotary disk and various pictures are projected on the picture surface by an image projector.
