  • Publication number: 20080175950
Abstract: Beer-flavored fermented beverages made from malt or other grains maintain their high quality for a long period of time without changing quality and remain as flavorful as they are immediately after production. Fermented beverages such as beer, happoshu, miscellaneous alcohol beverages and low-alcohol fermented malt beverages having high storage stability are provided by increasing the sulfurous acid concentration in the fermented beverages to 5.0 ppm or above. This is done by adjusting the concentration of free amino nitrogen (FAN value) in wort and other fermentation liquids to 25 mg/100 mL or below and adding a mineral source for fermentation.

  • Patent number: 7353054
Abstract: An apparatus which can objectively assess and display to what extent and to which disease the subject belongs based on the signals of changes in hemoglobin amount measured by the optical measurement apparatus is provided. The disease assessment apparatus comprises the feature extraction unit 15 for extracting features of the hemoglobin waveform, the feature analysis unit 16 and the storage unit 12 for storing features by each disease as database. The disease is assessed by extracting various kinds of feature amounts from the hemoglobin signals of the subject measured by the optical measurement apparatus in the feature extraction unit 15 and by applying multivariate analysis of similarities between feature amounts extracted and feature amounts stored by disease in the storage unit 12. Results of assessment are shown as scores expressing similarity with each disease group in a bar graph.

  • Publication number: 20080045382
Abstract: In hybrid electric vehicle control, when an engine is cranked by the torque of a first motor-generator to start the engine, the torque of the first motor-generator is corrected according to the crankshaft angle of the engine to prevent the amount of increase in engine rotation speed from fluctuating. Fluctuation in inertia torque is reduced through this control of the torque of the first motor-generator to reduce fluctuation in the cranking reaction force torque exerted on a drive axle. Further, the torque of a second motor-generator is so controlled to cancel out this cranking reaction force torque. Thus, the cranking reaction force torque exerted on the drive axle is accurately canceled out through control of the torque of the second motor-generator to suppress fluctuation in the torque of the drive axle.

  • Patent number: 7330745
Abstract: By making use of a set of loading of stimulation and no loading, variation signals in time of hemoglobin density at a plurality of measurement points of a subject attached of an optical measurement probe and corresponding to a plurality of channels are detected, and for the respective detected hemoglobin variation signals principal component analysis is performed as well as a representative signal having a higher contribution rate is extracted and the extracted representative signal is displayed on a monitor. A correlation between the representative signal and a task reference and response waveform representing a response pattern of a living body in response to a stimulation task is calculated, and a representative signal having the highest correlation value as calculated is displayed in a discriminable manner from the other signals as a task related signal which responds most to the stimulation given to the subject.

  • Publication number: 20070249461
Abstract: A control system for multiphase rotary electric machines is provided. The control system carries out control of the output of a multiphase rotary electric machine by operating switching elements of an inverter, so that more appropriate measure can be taken when malfunction has occurred in the inverter. A rotary shaft of an internal combustion engine, a rotary shaft of a generator and a rotary shaft of a motor are linked through a torque-splitting mechanism. The control system carries out failsafe processes, at the occurrence of short circuit in a switching element of the inverter, to control load torque of the generator so as to prevent rotation of a rotary shaft of the internal combustion engine in a non-operative state, which rotation is induced by a motive force of the motor.

  • Publication number: 20070142719
Abstract: A principal component analysis or an independent component analysis is conducted on the living body signals, e.g., local cerebral blood amount change signals obtained by the living body optical measurement to extract and display multiple component signals thereof. Signals other than the component signals containing noise are selected from these component signals automatically or manually, and the local cerebral blood amount change signals are reconstructed by using selected signals. The reconstructed signals is displayed and further subjected to the component analysis or the reconstruction as appropriate, and used for the profiling of information necessary for the diagnosis. Consequently, high-precision target signals can be obtained by completely removing external noise included in the living body signals, particularly the noise which cannot be adequately removed by the moving average and the filtering processings.

  • Patent number: 6810326
Abstract: When a facility is specified from a facility list indicating facilities which satisfy a facility searching condition, a path searching processing section searches for a driving path with the specified facility being set as a destination, and obtains information such as driving distance and driving time required when a vehicle travels the driving path to the destination. A text-information generating and drawing section generates drawing data for displaying text information, such as the driving distance and the driving time, and stores the drawing data in a VRAM. A map drawing section generates drawing data for displaying a map image of an area which includes the driving path and stores the drawing data in the VRAM. An image synthesis section synthesizes the drawing data stored in the VRAM and the drawing data supplied from an operation-screen generation section, and causes a display apparatus to display a search image which includes the facility list, the text information, and the map image on one screen.
