  • Publication number: 20230256779
Abstract: Provided is a tire 2 that can achieve reduction of rolling resistance while reducing a decrease in durability to be small. An apex 32 of each bead 10 includes an apex body 48, a strip apex 50, and an intermediate apex 52. An inner end of the strip apex 50 is located between a ply body 38a of a carcass ply 38 and the apex body 48. An inner end of the intermediate apex 52 is located between the strip apex 50 and the apex body 48. An outer end of the apex body 48 is located between the inner and outer ends of the intermediate apex 52. The intermediate apex 52 is located between the inner and outer ends of the strip apex 50. The intermediate apex 52 is harder than the apex body 48, and the strip apex 50 is harder than the intermediate apex 52.

  • Publication number: 20220305850
Abstract: Provided is a pneumatic tire enabling improvement of side cut resistance and suppression of increase in mass. A pneumatic tire 1 includes: a tread portion 2; a pair of sidewall portions 3; a pair of bead portions 4 having respective bead cores 5 embedded therein; and a toroidal carcass 6 disposed between the pair of bead portions 4. The carcass 6 includes a first ply 11 extending on and between the pair of bead portions 4, and a second ply 12 disposed, in the tread portion 2, outward of the first ply 11 in a tire radial direction and extending on and between the pair of bead portions 4. The first ply 11 is formed as a layer of first cords. The second ply 12 is formed as a layer of second cords. A thickness of each second cord is 1.1 to 2.0 times a thickness of each first cord.

  • Patent number: 10710415
Abstract: A tire includes a tread portion being provided with a circumferentially and continuously extending outboard shoulder main groove, a circumferentially and continuously extending outboard crown main groove disposed between the outboard shoulder main groove and a tire equator, and an outboard middle land portion disposed between the outboard shoulder main groove and the outboard crown main groove. The outboard middle land portion is provided with a plurality of first outboard middle lug grooves extending from the outboard crown main groove and terminating within the outboard middle land portion, and a plurality of second outboard middle lug grooves extending from the outboard shoulder main groove and terminating within the outboard middle land portion, wherein the second outboard middle lug grooves are larger than the first outboard middle lug grooves in length in a tire axial direction.

  • Publication number: 20130048196
Abstract: The tire production method includes the steps of (1) extruding a cord and a topping rubber, to obtain a ribbon 44, (2) winding a sheet around a drum, to obtain a belt 22, (3) feeding the ribbon 44 from a head, to layer a foremost end 50 of the ribbon 44 over the belt 22, (4) helically winding the ribbon 44 by rotating the drum with the head being moved toward an end 42b of the belt 22 in the axial direction, and (5) winding the ribbon 44 in a circumferential direction by stopping moving the head, at the end 42b of the belt 22, with rotation of the drum being maintained. In the step of winding the ribbon 44 in the circumferential direction, a rotation angle ?s of the drum is greater than or equal to 360°.
