  • Patent number: 11876447
Abstract: A device for controlling a converter has a first output variable and a second output variable adjusted by a duty of a switching element. The device includes a first controller that generates a first duty based on a first error between a predetermined limitation reference value corresponding to a reference value limiting a size of the first output variable and a measurement value of the first output variable measured at a load of a converter. A second controller generates a second duty based on a second error between a predetermined reference value of the second output variable and a measurement value of the second output variable measured at the load of the converter. A duty determination unit derives a final duty of the switching element based on the first duty and the second duty.

  • Patent number: 10899244
Abstract: A charging control method for an electric vehicle is provided. The method uses a vehicle charging device that includes a power factor correction circuit (PFC) and a DC/DC converter. The method includes receiving, by a PFC controller, a control pilot (CP) signal from an external charging device and restricting by the PFC controller an allowable current value derived by analyzing the CP signal to a maximum current value that is to be applied to the PFC. The PFC controller then derives an output current command value of the DC/DC converter by applying an output value of a voltage controller of the PFC to the allowable current value. A DC/DC converter controller then charges a battery using the output current command value of the DC/DC converter.

  • Patent number: 9884560
Abstract: A system and method for controlling an on-board battery charger of an eco-friendly vehicle are provided. In the method, when instantaneous interruption of electric power occurs in an AC input power source, a DC-DC controller adjusts an output current instruction to be limited to the minimum charging power, and a power factor corrector (PFC) controller outputs a voltage instruction to a first capacitor (DC link capacitor) connected to an output terminal of the PFC controller to be updated to zero (0) or an actual value of the DC link capacitor. When the AC input power source is then restored, the PFC controller outputs the voltage instruction to the first capacitor to be increased to the existing voltage instruction with a predetermined slope, to smoothly perform the charging operation of the on-board battery charger without pause.

  • Patent number: 9531272
Abstract: A two-phase interleaved converter includes two sub-circuits, a voltage controller, a current controller, a balancing controller and a phase shifter. The voltage controller receives the output voltage of the two sub-circuits and outputs a signal in proportion to the level of the output voltage. The current controller receives the output signal of the voltage controller and an inductor current from one of the two sub-circuits and outputs a control signal that controls one of the two sub-circuits which is in charge of one phase. The balancing controller receives values of currents output from the two sub-circuits and calculates a difference between the values of the currents output from the two sub-circuits to control a duty ratio of the control signal applied to one of the two sub-circuits. The phase shifter shifts a phase of the control signal output from the balancing controller.
