  • Publication number: 20080005753
Abstract: An optical disk drive is loaded with a disk set in a chuck position upon entry through an insertion slot by automatic loading. A lifting frame is movable between high and low positions in an opening of a base panel. A disk driving unit is disposed on the lifting frame for chucking and rotating the disk. A leading segment is connected with the lifting frame, and raises a distal end of a periphery of the disk from the insertion slot by forming a slope. The leading segment extends in the insertion direction of the disk, and has an end positioned beside the disk driving unit. The end of the leading segment is kept higher than an upper surface of the lifting frame when the lifting frame is in the low position.

  • Publication number: 20070277187
Abstract: An optical disk drive of a slot-in type is loadable with any of two optical disks different in the diameter, and has an insertion slot formed in a case chassis for disk loading. A disk entered through the insertion slot is received by a disk support arm set in a ready position. A loading mechanism is actuated when the disk support arm is pressed by the disk. In response to this, plural arms and the disk support arm cooperate to support the disk, which is moved to a chuck position for writing and reading information. For disk unloading, the disk, supported by the. plural arms, is moved by the disk support arm to an ejection position. The disk support arm is shifted from an advance position for pressing the disk to the ejection position, to the ready position which is offset toward the chuck position.

  • Publication number: 20070250843
Abstract: A disc device has a plurality of arms configured to support the outer rim of a disc carryable. Automatic loading is applied such that the disc inserted can be carried in the device, and the disc housed inside the device can be carried out of the device. A pair of shutter pieces are located on the central portion of a slot in a front bezel to be used to insert the disc therethrough and are spaced at a certain interval. The shutter piece rotates about one end thereof to raise/tumble the other end thereof. The tumbled shutter piece changes to the raised state after the disc is housed in the device while the shutter piece changes to the tumbled state before the disc housed inside the device is carried out of the device.

  • Publication number: 20070033598
Abstract: Without increasing the volume of information device main body, it is possible to arrange two disc devices superimposed in a horizontal direction or a vertical direction in a standardized half-height drive bay, thereby enabling simultaneous drive of a plurality of optical discs and improving operability such as mounting of the optical discs. A disc device A can accept a single disc or double discs horizontally or vertically in the drive bay of half height configured in the front face of an information device. The case (1) portion of the disc device A has an external shape having a thickness 19 mm to 20.65 mm and a width 145.5 mm to 146.5 mm. Furthermore, threaded hole (1d) is formed in the side surface of the case (1) for mounting onto the information device main body. Moreover, when a pair of disc devices (A1, A2) configured so as to be vertically combined is made into a unitary block by opposing the cases 1, the external shape is such that matched with the opening of the drive bay.

Abstract: In order to prevent a workpiece from being damaged in etching workpiece of various external diameters, a ceramic holding jig corresponding to the external diameter of workpiece is mounted on a chuck table in a chamber of an etching apparatus. The chuck table is composed of a holding face for holding a workpiece and for converting etching gas into plasma and insulating zones each having an internal diameter smaller than the external diameter of the workpiece and an external diameter larger than the external diameter of the workpiece. In case a workpiece is to be held by either a first ceramic holding jig or a second ceramic holding jig on the chuck table, a jig identifying means installed to the chamber identify in advance which ceramic holding jig is mounted on the chuck table to match the holding jig and the workpiece each other, thereby to prevent the workpiece from being damaged.

  • Publication number: 20050141356
Abstract: In the loading of a disc in a slot-in type of disc apparatus, time lag occurs at the time of shift from an operation that manually inserts the disc to an operation that automatically swallows the disc. In order to solve this problem, a switch for detecting the position of a disc at the beginning of insertion thereof and a switch for detecting a position where the loading of the disc has been completed are provided respectively. The modification of control is made so that the disc support arm is driven with a weak electric power from the beginning of the insertion of the disc, and an error caused by time-out is further detected. If the error has been detected, the disc is ejected.

  • Patent number: 6826764
Abstract: A disc device can easily install an eject/lock mechanism of self-hold solenoid type into a narrow space inside it, and by omitting some mechanisms of the structures, the cost can be lowered, and the malfunction frequency is therefore reduced. The disc device operates the eject/lock mechanism and opens a disc-loading unit by adding a pulse current to the self-hold solenoid. The eject/lock mechanism has a releasing spring, and when closing the disc-loading unit, a resilient force is generated by the releasing spring, and when opening the disc-loading unit, the resilient force is released. An activating end of the releasing spring is connected to a moveable plate of the self-hold solenoid.
