  • Patent number: 6141170
Abstract: There is provided in an embodiment according the present invention, a signal processing device comprising detecting means for detecting a predetermined frequency component of the input signal; modulating means for modulating the input signal and supplying the modulated signal to a recording device; and switching means for supplying, in a first state, the output of the modulating means to the detecting means, and for supplying, in a second state, a reproduced signal to the detecting means from a reproducing device. With the aforementioned construction, the detection circuit that detects a predetermined frequency component included in the modulated digital signal can be used during recording as well as during signal reproduction, which greatly contributes to reducing the size and cost of the recording/reproducing device.

  • Patent number: 6091880
Abstract: In a video signal processing apparatus provided with an image pickup part for picking up an image of an object and outputting a video signal and a reproducing part for reproducing a video signal from a recording medium, a video signal which is obtained by picking up the image of the object and a video signal which is obtained by reproducing a video signal from the recording medium are arranged to be selectively supplied to one and the same digital signal processing part. This arrangement simplifies the structural arrangement of the apparatus and yet ensures high-quality reproduction of the video signal.

  • Patent number: 5930443
Abstract: A video signal processing apparatus comprises an image pickup part arranged to photo-electrically convert an optically formed image and to output it as an electrical signal, an external input part which permits external input of a video signal, and a signal processing part which has a delay circuit. The signal processing part forms a color video signal from the electrical signal outputted from the image pickup part and separates the video signal inputted from the external input part into luminance and chrominance signals by using the delay circuit.

  • Patent number: 5675655
Abstract: A sound input apparatus according to the present invention subtracts, from the output signal from a first microphone, the output signal of a second microphone which is arranged in a manner different from that of the first microphone to output the subtracted signal and controls the level of the signal of the second microphone in response to the level of the subtracted signal. The sound input apparatus simply constructed in this way achieves a narrowed sound directivity when picking up sound and presents high-quality audio signal while keeping the influence of ambient noise to a minimum.

  • Patent number: 5402277
Abstract: An apparatus for reproducing from a recording medium a frequency-modulated audio signal which has its carrier level in a specific period determined according to the kind of information and for producing the audio signal after processing the reproduced audio signal is arranged to control the signal processing action according to the output of a detecting circuit which detects the level of a difference between the carrier level of the frequency-modulated audio signal obtained in the specific period and the carrier level obtained in a period other than the specific period or detects changes taking place in the carrier level. This arrangement enables the apparatus to process the audio signal appositely to the kind of the frequency-modulated signal thereof without recourse to any additional reproducing circuit solely for this purpose. Further, the apparatus is arranged to prevent any faulty signal processing action by nullifying as necessary the output of the detecting circuit.
