Abstract: A toner sorting device includes a device for taking in used toner conveyed from an image forming apparatus and conveying the used toner in one direction, and a device for sifting the used toner conveyed from the intake device to separate reusable toner from the used toner. The sifting device includes a tubular sieve for separating reusable toner from the used toner and a device for holding the sieve so that the sieve is rotatable. The sieve has an opening for receiving the used toner conveyed from the intake device to be moved into the sifting device and an opening for discharging the remaining toner separated from the reusable toner and remaining inside the sifting device. The toner sorting device further includes a device for collecting the reusable toner separated from the used toner by the sifting device and a device for collecting the remaining toner discharged from the sifting device. The toner sorting device further includes a device for accelerating sifting of the used toner by the sifting device.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus which utilizes an intermediate transfer belt. A cleaning device is provided to remove residual toner, etc., from the intermediate transfer belt and the cleaning device includes a cleaning blade, a bias roller, and a bias roller cleaning blade. The bias roller rotates in a same direction as that of the image transfer belt. Further, the cleaning blade and the bias roller cleaning blade can be of a same length and can be mounted to a same holder. The positioning of the bias roller and the bias roller cleaning blade can be offset towards a front portion of the image forming device relative to the image transfer belt cleaning blade, to ensure that toner which deposits on a front end of the image transfer belt, even if outside of an effective image area on the image transfer belt, is removed.

Abstract: An apparatus for issuing plane tickets by communicating with a host apparatus using data from a keyboard or a bar code reader includes a hopper for storing plane tickets having a magnetic stripe extending along the longer sides thereof. A convey mechanism picks up the plane tickets one by one from the hopper and conveys the ticket on a convey path while aligning the shorter sides of the card with the convey direction.

Abstract: In a process for preparing hydrogen peroxide by reacting hydrogen with oxygen in the presence of a catalyst in an aqueous medium containing hydrogen peroxide, the improvement which comprises using an aqueous medium which contains dissolved hydrogen and a platinum-group catalyst having adsorbed thereto hydrogen.

Abstract: A process for preparing hydrogen peroxide which comprises reacting hydrogen with oxygen in an aqueous medium containing a platinum-group catalyst, characterized in that the partial pressure of hydrogen and the partial pressure of oxygen in the gaseous phase of the reaction system are maintained at at least 0.5 atmosphere and at least 1.0 atmosphere respectively, and the platinum group catalyst is caused to be present in an amount, calculated as metal, of at least a minimum effective catalytic amount up to 30 mg per 100 ml. of said aqueous medium.
