    Abstract: An electric power steering control apparatus for controlling a motor that provides an assisting force for steering a steering wheel has a command value calculation device operable to calculate a command value for a torque current to be fed to the motor based on a steering torque of the steering wheel, a magnetic field control device operable to control intensity of a magnetic field in the motor, and a motor drive device operable to drive the motor based on outputs from the command value calculation device and the magnetic field control device. The magnetic field control device is operable to perform a field weakening control for weakening the magnetic field in the motor when a vehicle speed is less than a predetermined value, and to not perform the field weakening control when the vehicle speed is not less than the predetermined value.
