  • Patent number: 7454274
Abstract: An in-vehicle device having a plurality of output units. The device includes content provision units for individually outputting, to each of users, a piece of content arbitrarily chosen by the user from a plurality of pieces of content, using one of the plurality of output units. The device includes a user recognition unit for individually recognizing the user who receives the piece of content through the one of the plurality of output units. The device includes a storage unit for individually storing the piece of content provided to the user. The device further includes a control unit for, when the user recognition means recognizes that a user to receive the piece of content through the one of the plurality of output units is changed to another user, outputting a piece of content corresponding to the another user by controlling the content provision unit.

  • Patent number: 7113602
Abstract: An acoustic apparatus comprises an attenuator for attenuating a first audio signal to produce a second audio signal, a low pass filter for reducing high frequency components of the second audio signal to produce a third audio signal, a differential amplifier operative to produce a fourth audio signal corresponding to a difference between the first and third audio signals, and a speaker supplied with the fourth audio signal obtained from the differential amplifier, wherein a cutoff frequency of the low pass filter is selected to be not lower than 2 kHz and not higher than 6 kHz and attenuation of the first audio signal in the attenuator is so selected that a listener is able to recognize a virtual sound source position in front of and at a level higher than an actual position of the speaker.

  • Publication number: 20050234619
Abstract: It is an object of this invention to control the output of a piece of music in response to a change in a user's seat even when the piece of music is being played, in an in-vehicle device having a plurality of output units. According to this invention, when individually outputting, to each of user, a piece of content arbitrarily chosen by the user from a plurality of pieces of content, using one of a plurality of speakers (3-6), an authentication manager (50) individually recognizes the user who receives the piece of content through the one of the plurality of speakers (3-6), which piece of content is provided to the user is prestored, and when it is recognized that a user to receive the piece of content through the one of the plurality of speakers (3-6) is changed to another user, a piece of content corresponding to the other user is output.

  • Publication number: 20050195998
Abstract: This invention allows a plurality of users to listen to different sounds at high sound quality. This invention provides a selector 16 for selecting audio signals corresponding to requests from a plurality of users, headphone amplifiers 17A and 17B for individually outputting the selected audio signals to the corresponding users, and the speaker amplifier 20 for outputting a mixed bass signal created by extracting and mixing only the bass components of the selected audio signals, to all the users. As a result, each of the users can listen to different desired sound in a situation where the bass components of the users' desired sounds are mixed and output to all the users.
