  • Publication number: 20130141351
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a portable electronic device includes a housing with a built-in processor, a touchscreen display arranged on a surface of the housing, a temperature sensor configured to detect a temperature within the housing, a brightness adjustment module, and a brightness control module. The brightness adjustment module adjusts a brightness of the touchscreen display so as to set the touchscreen display to a brightness value specified by user operation. If the detected temperature is greater than or equal to a first threshold value, the brightness control module reduces an upper limit value of a brightness range applicable to the touchscreen display.

  • Patent number: 8239864
Abstract: According an aspect of the invention, a mobile terminal includes a task executing unit configured to execute a plurality of task groups and a management unit configured to manage to execute in a first order the task groups. If the task executing unit executes a first task group in foreground and if the management unit receives a first request executing a second task group different from the first task group, the management unit manages the first and the second task groups as one chain and executes the second task group in foreground. If the task executing unit executes the first task group in foreground and if the management unit receives a second request executing a third task group different from the first and second task groups, the management unit manages the first and third task groups as other chain and executes the third task group in foreground.

  • Publication number: 20060107031
Abstract: Screen display matched to the progress of execution of the initialization function in small and inexpensive devices such as a portable terminal is performed. Furthermore, reliability in the event of an error is improved without providing excessive redundancy and with limited capacity in a NAND flash memory storing programs. A first boot layer and a second boot layer of the same content are stored in the NAND flash memory. The boot layer free from errors is copied (C2) to a RAM (step S21), and a boot layer program is executed in the RAM (step S30). A simple logo and the like comprising characters is then displayed (first screen display) (step S32). Next, a system layer program is executed in the RAM (step S40). A screen (second screen display) is then displayed by switching between a plurality of images (step S44).

  • Patent number: 6108563
Abstract: A communication setting pattern indicating whether or not the mobile stations located in the radio zone are permitted to communicate is set for each radio zone in a communication setting memory. In a case where a call request related to a mobile station located in the service area has been made, a CPU carries out the call process corresponding to the call request only when the communication pattern permits communication in the radio zone where the mobile station related to the call request is located. When the communication setting pattern stored in the communication setting memory has been changed, the CPU disconnects the call related to the mobile station in a case where a busy mobile station is located in the radio zone where the changed communication permit/inhibit information inhibits communication.
