  • Publication number: 20040164930
Abstract: A plasma display panel device having high luminance efficiency and a drive method for the PDP device, which includes a panel unit having a plurality of pairs of a first and a second electrode, and a plurality of third electrodes that intersect the electrode pairs to define a plurality of discharge cells, and a drive unit that drives the panel unit using a drive method having a write period and a sustain period, by applying, in the sustain period, a voltage to the third electrodes and a voltage to the electrode pairs, so as to generate a sustain discharge between the first and second electrodes in the sustain period, the drive unit applying the voltage to the third electrodes so as to change a potential of the third electrodes during the sustain discharge.

  • Patent number: 4328579
Abstract: A system for simultaneously transmitting over the same voice circuit a voice signal and input information other than the voice. First and second sine-wave signals which do not bear any harmonic relation to each other in the band of the voice circuit are simultaneously frequency modulated by the input information, and the modulated outputs are superimposed on the voice signal and transmitted. On the receiving side, the pitch frequency of the voice signal is extracted from the received signal, and the pitch frequency and its integral multiples are removed from the received signal to remove a voice component. At this time, at least one of the first and second sine-wave signals is detected. One of these detected outputs is made to have the same frequency as the other frequency. The converted frequency and the detected frequency are demodulated to obtain the original input information.

  • Patent number: 4081605
Abstract: A speech signal fundamental period extractor which receives a residual value signal from a speech analyzer, such as one using autocorrelators. The residual value signal is first passed through a filter to remove the high-frequency components. Then the signal is quantized to obtain low-bit quantization of the residual value. The output from the quantizer is then sent to an autocorrelator to obtain the correlation coefficient and the fundamental period is extracted by selecting the position of a maximum correlation coefficient. This provides more accurate results and permits the use of low-speed elements and a reduction of components.

  • Patent number: 4074069
Abstract: The voiced and unvoiced conditions of a speech signal are judged by combining a ratio (defined as the parcor coefficient k.sub.1) .phi.(.tau.s)/.phi.(o) between the value .phi.(o) of the autocorrelation function of the speech signal at a zero delay time, and the value .phi.(.tau.s) of the autocorrelation function at a delay time .tau.s of the sampling period with a parameter extracted from the speech signal by a correlation technique and representing the degree of periodicity (P.sub.m) of the speech signal. By comparing the result of the combination against a predetermined threshold it can be determined whether the speech signal is in a voiced condition or in an unvoiced condition.

  • Patent number: 4046987
Abstract: A DC arc welding apparatus using a high-frequency pulse current is disclosed and includes a rectifier bridge for commutating AC voltage and for applying DC voltage having a substantially smooth waveform to a circuit including an electrode and a workpiece for welding. A first switch is connected between an arc load formed between the electrode and the workpiece and a positive output side of the rectifier bridge. A second switch is connected between the arc load and a negative output side of the rectifier bridge. A capacitor has one end connected to a contact of the rectifier bridge and the first switch and another end connected to a contact of the rectifier bridge and the second switch.
