  • Patent number: 8918604
Abstract: An information processing apparatus, an information processing method and a program may provide that information to be processed by an application program recorded on a recording medium can be taken over and used by an application program recorded on a different recording medium. The application program serving as a content, a first root certificate issued to the application program, and a second root certificate issued before the first root certificate is issued to the application program may be recorded on the recording medium. The information processing apparatus, which executes the application program, creates, in the memory, a first folder for storing data to be processed by the application program, the first folder associated with the first root certificate; and copies data stored in a second folder, the second folder associated with the second root certificate, to the first folder in a case where the second folder exists in the memory.

  • Patent number: 8429689
Abstract: A process for performing video recording and the like after obtaining electronic program data is optimized. According to the process, only program data relating to one or more predetermined preset channels of the channels which are broadcast by a broadcast service are separated from program data which guide programs broadcast by a predetermined broadcast service. Only program data relating to a predetermined channel are stored, and processes of video recording and the like can be performed according to the stored program data.

  • Patent number: 8233764
Abstract: A program recording method receives and records a desired program, the recording of which is set based on at least a broadcast time period and a broadcast channel. The method includes obtaining an electronic program guide and, when the desired program recording is set, searching a character string in a predetermined region of the electronic program guide including the broadcast time and broadcast channel, and changing the broadcast time period to a new time period when a predetermined word is included in the character string. A program recording apparatus for performing the method is also provided. The program recording apparatus and method ensure that a situation does not occur in which an end portion of the desired program is not recorded.

  • Publication number: 20110320752
Abstract: The present invention relates to an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, a program, and a recording medium in which information to be processed by an application program recorded on a recording medium can be taken over and used by an application program recorded on a different recording medium. For example, assume that three pieces of data (file a, file c, and file d) are stored in a folder 213-12 corresponding to a BD 11 of a 2009 spring version. Also, assume that three pieces of data (file a, file b, and file d) are stored in a folder 213-11 corresponding to a BD 11B of a 2009 summer version. In this case, overwrite copying is not performed on data existing in the folder 213-11, and only the data not existing in the folder 213-11 in the data existing in the folder 213-12 is copied to the folder 213-11. The present invention can be applied to a BD player or the like.

  • Patent number: 7657155
Abstract: In order to make a recording mode in case of recording a broadcast program to be a mode which is easily used when reproducing, guide information of the broadcast program of the recorded channel is obtained in a case when a received broadcast program is recorded and a pointer is set according to the obtained guide information at a recording position of the time from which each program is started in a case when a plurality of programs exist during a period from the recording start time to the ending time thereof.

  • Patent number: 7062151
Abstract: An IRD (Integrated Receiver-Decoder) causes SmartFile information of a D-VHS (Digital-Video Home System) to be read so as to operate the D-VHS on the basis of the SmartFile information. The IRD instructs the D-VHS to record a program, extracts content information and relevant information from a broadcast signal received by an antenna, and outputs the content information and relevant information to the D-VHS. The D-VHS records the input content information and relevant information in accordance with an instruction from the IRD. Furthermore, the IRD causes the recorded relevant information to be read from the D-VHS and displays it on a monitor, selects a program on the basis of the displayed relevant information, and sends an instruction for playing back the selected program to the D-VHS. The D-VHS plays back the content information in accordance with this playback instruction.
