  • Patent number: 9140716
Abstract: A display system of the present invention for a vehicle includes plural speed display areas which are capable of being simultaneously displayed, such as a first speed display area and a second speed display area, and a display controlling section causing predetermined one of speed display areas to display speed and for causing other one or more of speed display areas to display information other than speed according to necessity. This allows decrease in false recognition of the speed. With this, a display system for a vehicle can be provided, the display system being able to improve safety of driving by a user by getting rid of false recognition of speed, which is important information for safe driving.

  • Patent number: 8331622
Abstract: An automotive display device, which allows the user to easily recognize the sameness of an information image even if the shape of the image is changed, is realized. An automotive display device (1) includes a display section (13) for displaying a vehicle information image including information regarding a vehicle. The vehicle information image is a 3-D image. The automotive display device (1) further includes an image processing section (113) for generating a vehicle information image seen from a fixed viewpoint, an image display processing section (114) for displaying the vehicle information image on the display section (13), and an ETC information detection section (21) that detects a driving condition of the vehicle. The image processing section (113) rotates the vehicle information image around a predetermined axis and for a predetermined angle, in accordance with ETC information obtained by the ETC information detecting section (21).

  • Patent number: 7729514
Abstract: A display section displays a speedometer having a substantially circular shape on an outer circumference of which a speed scale is provided. Then, that point on the outer circumference of the speedometer which indicates a speed at a moment is calculated. Further a speed that is attained at a given time period (e.g. 0.5 second) after the moment if the speed is increased at an acceleration at the moment is calculated. An arc-shaped pointer is displayed, the arc-shaped pointer passing (i) the calculated point of the speed scale, (ii) a middle point between the calculated point of the speed scale and a center of the speedometer, and (iii) the center of the speedometer. With this arrangement, a display device displaying the speedometer allows a driver to easily recognize the speed and an amount of a change therein (i.e. acceleration).

  • Publication number: 20080018671
Abstract: An image data obtaining section reads out map information displayed in a display device from a map information storage section and converts the map information into image data so as to cause an image data storage memory to store the image data, and a changing display control section reads out the image data and causes the display device to scale down or scale up the image data, and a determined size information generation section reads out the map information from the map information storage section and converts the map information into determined size information by adjusting a scale-down or scale-up factor of the map information to a display scale factor specified in a scale-down or scale-up determination instruction given by a user, and a determined display control section causes the display device to display the determined size information, thereby realizing an information display control device which can convert information displayed in the display device into information, which is accurately displayed a
