  • Patent number: 8416660
Abstract: There is provided a method of calculating the degradation over time of the quality of data recorded on an optical disk in a short time. In the method, when user data is recorded on a data area, a test signal including a component in which the signal level is smaller than a reference value, is recorded on a test area. Then, the test signal is reproduced from the test area when a predetermined time has passed, to calculate the quality degradation of the user data from the evaluation result. Alternatively, every time when the user data is recorded/reproduced on/from the data area, the test signal is recorded/reproduced repeatedly on/from the test area. Then, the test signal is reproduced from the test area at a predetermined timing, to calculate the quality degradation of the user data from the evaluation result.

  • Patent number: 8205798
Abstract: A card holding apparatus of the present invention includes a seal member 12 that is provided so as to surround the periphery of a contact terminal portion 11. When a lid 3 is positioned in a closed position with a smart card 100 retained by the lid 3, the seal member 12 comes into close contact with the periphery of a terminal 101. Thus, even when foreign matter such as water or dust intrudes into a space between the lid 3 and a housing 1, adhesion of such foreign matter to contact terminals 11a or the terminal 101 can be prevented.

  • Publication number: 20110249410
Abstract: Due to the presence of a regulating part in the vicinity of a protrusion of a guide member, a card holding apparatus can prevent large deformation of the protrusion even when an excess pressure force in an insertion direction is applied to the expansion card mounted on the card holding apparatus. Thus, when the subsequent expansion cards are mounted, a guide member can be displaced normally in the insertion direction, and a heart-shaped cam mechanism can be operated normally. Therefore, the expansion card can be removed from the card holding apparatus, using the elastic restoring force of a spring.
