  • Patent number: 5462305
Abstract: An airbag restraint unit for protecting a vehicle passenger from application of impact in the event of a serious vehicle collision. The airbag restraint unit having a gas generator storage container, as a sealed container in which a generally cylindrical gas generator is disposed. An airbag is sealingly and securely attached to the storage container in such a manner that high pressure gas from the gas generator is introduced into the airbag in the event of the vehicle collision. The storage container is provided at its inside with support sections for the gas generator, projecting inside the storage container. During assembly of the unit, the gas generator is inserted into the storage container through a hole formed in a side end wall of the storage container and slidingly moved toward an opposite side end wall upon contacting with the support sections.

  • Patent number: 5447329
Abstract: An air-bag device comprises an air-bag proper, an air-bag housing structure for receiving the air-bag proper, and inflating device for inflating the air-bag proper under a given condition. The air-bag housing structure has an easily breakable portion which is pushed and broken by the air-bag proper when the air-bag proper is inflated. An air-bag projection sheet is employed, which protects the air-bag proper from making a direct abutment with the easily breakable portion upon inflation of the air-bag proper.

  • Patent number: 5384673
Abstract: A storage apparatus which performs writing and reading of data on a magnetic tape by the helical scan method using a rotary head, in particular one suited to use with a large-sized host computer, which storage apparatus includes mainly a storage control unit connected to the host computer and a drive unit for reading from and writing on the magnetic tape. System areas are formed on the magnetic tapes, which system areas have tables which include management information relating to the magnetic tapes themselves and able to be renewed by the storage control unit. By using these tables, the magnetic tapes can be easily accessed at a high speed, diagnosed as to trouble, and managed in data blocks.

  • Patent number: 5321562
Abstract: A data recording and/or reproducing apparatus records and/or reproduces file data by processing the file data on the unit of a predetermined block length, a data block and information data for identifying the data block on predetermined unit regions. A supplement data is recorded on a region other than the region recorded the file data, the block data and the information data for identifying within the unit regions. Thereby these data are recorded and/or reproduction processed at every predetermined units so that the bit error rate is remarkably improved.

  • Patent number: 5320380
Abstract: An airbag restraint system for protecting a vehicle passenger in the event of a vehicle serious collision. An airbag of this system is usually folded compactly and is covered with a generally box-shaped cover member. The cover member has openings at the central portion and the side center portion of a rectangular top surface of the cover member. A plurality of thin portions, which are thinner in thickness than that of the main portion, are formed along the center line parallel to the long side of the top surface and along every sides of the top surface. In the event of the vehicle serious collision, the cover member is easily broken from the end of the thin portion defining the opening.

  • Patent number: 5033771
Abstract: An airbag restraint system for protecting a vehicle passenger in the event of a serious vehicle collision. The airbag is comprised of an airbag which is adapted to inflate upon being supplied with gas from a gas generator. The airbag includes a bag-shaped section which has generally circular rear and front side sheet members which are joined together at their peripheral portions to define a gas chamber to be filled with the gas from the gas generator. A plurality of suspension belts are disposed inside the bag-shaped section. One end of each suspension belt is sewed to a belt catch member which is in turn sewed to the central part of the rear side sheet member, thereby forming a sewed section. The sewed section extends linearly and includes a straightly extending portion which is generally perpendicular to a lenghwise direction of each suspension belt.

  • Patent number: 4659927
Abstract: A method for transferring an image from an image sheet to an image-receiving sheet while the sheets are superposed, and an apparatus therefor. A support plate of good thermal conductivity and rigidity is placed against the sheets, and a cover sheet superposed remotely from the support plate. The resulting assembly is passed through a pair of heated rollers. Cooling rollers may cool the superposed sheets following image transfer. Additional cooling may be provided.

  • Patent number: 4311304
Abstract: A large number of presensitized plates are stacked on a platform. The platform is controlled to lift the stack of presensitized plates so that the uppermost presensitized plate in the stack is always positioned at a predetermined level. Sucking members suck the uppermost plate and lift it away from the rest of the stack. The lifted plate is placed on a plurality of parallel endless belts and transferred to a printing section. The plate is positioned in two dimensions with respect to the printing section on the way thereto.

  • Patent number: 4310616
Abstract: Method and apparatus for developing and treating PS plates in which the useful life of the treatment liquid is greatly enhanced. First and second developing baths and a gum coating bath are provided with the PS plates conveyed therethrough. The plates are squeezed between the first and second developing baths to remove treatment liquid. Treatment liquid is transferred from the second to the first developing bath and discharged from the first developing bath when the liquid in the first bath is beyond the normal limit of treatment ability for a single bath system. New treatment liquid is supplied to the second bath in proportion to the amount of treatment and the lapse of time.

  • Patent number: 4204736
Abstract: In contact-printing the image of a transmission type original on a photosensitive plate material positioned on a printing stage, the original is in advance fixed to a transparent sheet which is movable between an open position and a closed position. The original is fixed to the transparent sheet at a predetermined position thereon at which the original will be registered with the plate material when the transparent sheet is moved to its closed position. In the open position, the transparent sheet is held away from the printing stage to permit change of the plate material and in the closed position, the transparent sheet sealingly covers the plate material in a predetermined positional relationship therewith and the space under the transparent sheet is evacuated to bring the transparent sheet, the original and the plate material into close contact with each other. Then, the three members are exposed to light.

  • Patent number: 4183751
Abstract: A process for developing a photosensitive material, and a device therefor, are disclosed wherein an image on a photosensitive material consisting of a cover base laminated through the intermediary of a photosensitive layer to a support member is developed into a visible image by stripping the cover base from the support member. A preliminary stripping step of stripping the cover base from the support member in the leading end portion thereof is first performed. This is immediately followed by the reorientation of the leading end portion of the cover base to bring the same into registration with the support member. Therefore, a final stripping step is performed wherein the cover base is successively separated from the leading end portion thereof towards the trailing end thereof from the support member.
