  • Patent number: 7571437
Abstract: To prevent a computer to be managed from being omitted in software-property management which manages, for each computer, basic information thereof, installed software, and fix-patch application status, an omission-in-software-property-management detection method using a network is provided. A network-connected-computer list which holds, for all computers connected to a given network, information for identifying each computer, and a software-property management list which holds, for all computers to be managed by the software-property management, information for identifying each computer, are used as a basis on which a computer is extracted that is present in the network-connected-computer list and absent in the software-property management list. And a list is created of a computer omitted in software property management.

  • Patent number: 7552478
Abstract: There is disclosed a network unauthorized access preventing system in which in a network to which one or more information processing apparatuses and a network unauthorized access preventing apparatus are connected, an unauthorized apparatus which is not authorized to access the network is prevented from accessing the network. The system includes an information processing apparatus which sends a correct ARP response packet to the unauthorized apparatus in response to an ARP request broadcast from the unauthorized apparatus, and a network unauthorized access preventing apparatus which sends an ARP response packet containing a false MAC address as the MAC address of the information processing apparatus to the unauthorized apparatus immediately after the correct ARP response packet is sent to the unauthorized apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6769029
Abstract: A transmission delay measuring method used in a packet network includes the steps of: detecting by the use of first and second clocks, for each of first direction-data packets transmitted from a first terminal to a second terminal through the packet network, input and output time instants when each of the first direction-data packets enters and leaves the packet network, respectively; recording the input and the output time instants for the first direction-data packets as recorded input and recorded output time instants for the first direction-data packets; detecting by the use of the second and the first clocks, for each of second direction-data packets transmitted from the second terminal to the first terminal through the packet network, input and output time instants when each of the second direction-data packets enters and leaves the packet network, respectively; recording the input and the output time instants for the second direction-data packets as recorded input and recorded output time instants for t
