  • Patent number: 9719814
Abstract: A needle type gauge includes: a needle that includes a main rotating portion that rotates around a rotation shaft, and an indicator which points out an index part; and an actuator. The main rotating portion includes a light emitting portion that emits strip-shaped light. The light emitting portion is located at the actuator side relative to the indicator, and emits the strip-shaped light to a nearby area to the indicator and located, relative the indicator, at one side in a rotation direction of the indicator. The needle includes a shield which extends in a direction of the actuator from the indicator, extends along the indicator, and blocks, among the strip-shaped light, light directed from the one side in the rotation direction of the indicator to the other side therein.

  • Patent number: 9690136
Abstract: A vehicular display apparatus includes a liquid crystal display unit and a display plate. The display plate includes a diffusion portion that transmits and diffuses light of a first light source, and a transmission display portion that permits light of a second light source to transmit through and illuminate a prescribed shape portion serving as a status display portion. The liquid crystal display unit provides a liquid crystal display using, as back light, the light diffused by the diffusion portion. The display plate includes a slit in a portion located in between the transmission display portion and the diffusion portion.

  • Patent number: 9522630
Abstract: A vehicular display apparatus is provided with an ambient-light luminous region that surrounds an outer periphery of a display region. An ambient light source emits light, which is then guided by an ambient-light guide body into an acrylic cylindrical body. The guided light is then outputted from a light output end face of the acrylic cylindrical body towards a light output direction. The light output end face forms the ambient-light luminous region. The vehicular display apparatus includes a light collection structure that collects an output light, which is outputted from the light output end face, towards the light output direction. Collecting the output light towards the light output direction enables the reduction of a light leakage to a direction different from the light output direction, improving an outputted luminance of the ambient-light luminous region.

  • Patent number: 9435531
Abstract: A display apparatus provides a display region to display information, and a peripheral light luminous region to output light. The display apparatus includes an indicator light source and a coloring transmissive member made of light transmissive material. The coloring transmissive member includes a light input face where the light emitted from the indicator light source enters; a light output face with a belt-like shape in an extended direction to form the light luminous region by outputting light inputted from the light input face; and an attenuation portion attenuating light transmitting from the light input face to the light output face. The attenuation portion has a thickness between the light input face and the light output face. The thickness changes to increase in the extended direction of the light output face as going from a central portion towards each of both end portions.

  • Publication number: 20070089665
Abstract: An instrumental dial has a plurality of grooves defined in a front surface thereof. Each groove has a pair of side surfaces each comprising a pair of flat surfaces. The flat surface is closer to a rear surface of the instrumental dial than the flat surface. The flat surfaces are inclined by different angles ?1, ?2, respectively, to the direction in which the dial is visually recognized. The angles ?1, ?2 satisfy the relationship of ?1>?2. The number of times that incoming light is reflected in the groove is increased to greatly reduce the amount of light that leaves the groove and also to disperse outgoing light in various directions. The instrumental dial thus has a novel look provided by a spinning pattern, and has a reduced reflectance for good visibility.
