  • Patent number: 4201144
Abstract: The automatic sewing machine comprises a sewing head mounted on a table, cloth clamping plates driven by pulse motors in X and Y axis directions of rectangular coordinates on the table, and a pulse generator for applying driving pulses to the pulse motors.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4190007
Abstract: A sheet having marks corresponding to stitch positions along a sewing pattern curve is mounted on a programmer table. A stylus to be positioned at the mark is removably mounted on a movable member which is moved on the table in orthogonal directions by a pair of pulse motors. There are provided memory medium having a memory area for storing pulses applied to the pulse motors between two adjacent marks along the sewing pattern curve corresponding to at least one address, first control means including a ROM writer for transferring the content of the memory medium to a nonvolatile memory means such as ROM or PROM, second control means for reading the content of the memory medium or of the nonvolatile memory means for producing an instruction pulse train for moving the movable member by the pulse motors, and a cutting tool for forming a groove of said pattern curve through a cloth clamping plate mounted on the movable member by the second control means.

  • Patent number: 4135459
Abstract: A support carrying a cloth clamping member is moved in the X and Y directions of rectangular coordinates by a pair of pulse motors which are controlled by a control system to perform a profile sewing of a predetermined pattern. Reciprocation and stopping of the needle at the upper or lower dead center are also controlled by the control system which comprises a memory device for storing information regarding the numbers of pulses required to drive the pulse motors for moving the support in the X and Y directions by one sewing pitch and regarding repeated numbers of the sewing pitch in the X and Y directions, the pulses being produced by converting the profile into the amounts of movements in the X and Y directions, and information which commands the starting of the sewing operation, thread cutting, vertical reciprocation of the needle and the stopping of the needle at a upper or a lower dead center, in the form of binary codes and according to the predetermined sequences of the sewing operation.

  • Patent number: 4130073
Abstract: In an automatic sewing machine of the type comprising a memory device storing a predetermined sewing pattern, a movable head including a cloth clamping member for clamping a piece of cloth to be sewed to a movable head, a pulse motor controlled by an electric signal read out from the memory device for moving the movable head at a predetermined speed thereby sewing the piece of cloth according to the sewing pattern, a working tool is mounted on the sewing machine, and a blank of a cloth clamping member is mounted on the movable head at a position to be worked by the working tool. At this time the pulse motor is driven at a speed lower than the predetermined speed, thereby working the blank to have a profile corresponding to the sewing pattern.
