  • Publication number: 20100271022
Abstract: A receiving RF coil includes a coil element group having a figure-eight coil, a first loop coil arranged at the center of the figure-eight coil, and a second loop coil partially overlaid on the first loop coil. Furthermore, a path switching control unit switches the transmitting paths of a signal so that the signal can be received and/or transmitted with a combination of the first loop coil and the second loop coil or a combination of the figure-eight coil and the first loop coil.

  • Publication number: 20100244838
Abstract: A radio frequency coil assembly is provided that includes a first radio frequency coil for receiving a magnetic resonance signal from a tested body; a second radio frequency coil for receiving a magnetic resonance signal from the tested body; and a third radio frequency coil for receiving a magnetic resonance signal from the tested body and having a shape that is different from that of at least one of the first and second radio frequency coils so as to increase local sensitivity in an image-picked-up region.

  • Patent number: 7642779
Abstract: A radio-frequency coil has a first element and a second element both being adjacently arranged so as to nip a division/join portion. The first element has a first main loop portion provided along an arrangement plain surface and a first sub-loop portion provided along a surface substantially perpendicular to the arrangement plain surface. The second element has a second main loop portion provided along the arrangement plain surface and a second sub-loop portion provided facing the first sub-loop. The first sub-loop portion and the second sub-loop portion generate an induced electromotive force such that, among magnetic fields generated when a current flows in one coil, a summation of the magnetic fields, which interlink with the other coil, becomes zero.

  • Publication number: 20090134875
Abstract: When an RF coil in a magnetic resonance imaging system includes a plurality of conductive members and circuit elements connected to the conductive members, at least part of each of the conductive members is formed to a thickness so as to dissipate heat generated from the circuit elements. Moreover, the magnetic resonance imaging system is configured to include a cooling unit that circulates cooling air over the surfaces of the circuit elements provided in the RF coil.

  • Publication number: 20010022515
Abstract: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus generates an MR signal from an object to be examined by applying a gradient field pulse generated by a gradient field coil and a high-frequency magnetic field pulse generated by a high-frequency coil onto the object in a static field generated by a static field magnet, and reconstructs an image on the basis of the MR signal. The gradient field coil is housed in a sealed vessel. A cable extending from an external power supply and connected to the gradient field coil has predetermined flexibility.
