  • Patent number: 6560414
Abstract: In a photoreceptor for an image forming apparatus including a charging device, a relationship between a thickness “A” of a surface portion of a photosensitive layer abraded by image forming operations, a thickness “B” of a portion of the photosensitive layer ground by an operation of grinding the abraded surface of the photosensitive layer, a number of times “n” the operation of grinding the abraded surface of the photosensitive layer has been executed, and an original photosensitive layer thickness “C” of the photoreceptor is set such that a thickness “D” of a remaining portion of the photosensitive layer after having been ground which is obtained by equation: D=C−[(A+B)×n+A], is equal to or greater than a thickness of the photosensitive layer in which leakage from the charging device to the photoreceptor does not occur, so that the photoreceptor may be reused.

  • Patent number: 6127012
Abstract: A recyclable article and a sheet-like member included in the article are disclosed. In a copier, for example, a front door has a door body and a decal fitted on the door body by an adhesive. The door body and decal are formed of thermoplastic resins soluble in each other, so that the adhesive does not remain on the door body when the decal is peeled off the door body. When the front door is melted for recycling, a molding having desirable characteristic is achievable. When the decal is peeled off the door body in order to reuse the front door, the adhesive can be easily removed from the door body.

  • Patent number: 6124014
Abstract: A product including parts which can be recycled is disclosed. A front door, for example, included in the product is formed of thermoplastic resin. Decals are respectively adhered to the front and the rear of the front door, and each is made of thermoplastic resin soluble to the resin constituting the door. A mark showing that the front door can be recycled without peeling off the decals is provided on each decal. A sheet-like member showing the meaning of the mark is adhered to the rear of the front door.

  • Patent number: 4989037
Abstract: A driving device drives an elongate second rotary body which is movable toward and away from an elongate first rotary body that is mounted on a machine body, while maintaining the former in contact with the latter in a uniform pressure distribution. Both of the first and second rotary bodies have a cylindrical or columnar configuration, for example. The device transmits a rotating force from a drive source to the second rotary body at one end of the second rotary body. The second rotary body is unmovably mounted on a carrier or base integrally with the drive source and is movable toward and away from the first rotary body. Biasing means constantly urges the second rotary body against the first rotary body.

  • Patent number: 4876572
Abstract: An electrophotographic copier, laser printer, facsimile apparatus or similar image recorder includes an image forming case in which a photoconductive element, a developing device and a cleaning device are individually detachably accommodated. The image forming case is removable mounted on a body of the image recorder which is constituted by an upper unit and a lower unit, the case being disposed between the upper and lower units. The photoconductive element, developing device and cleaning device are pressed from above by the upper unit to be positioned with accuracy in individual positioning portions which are provided on the lower unit.

  • Patent number: 4794420
Abstract: A device for driving a rotary body which is required to make contact with another rotary body with an even pressure distribution along its length, e.g. a register roller installed in an electrophotographic machine for feeding a paper sheet, a developing roller applicable to a contact type developing system, or a doctor roller of a developing apparatus. A developing roller, or one of the rotary bodies, is movable in a single limited direction toward and away from a photoconductive element, or the other rotary body, which is fixed in place. A drive gear is meshed with a driven gear which is mounted on one end of a shaft of the developing roller, thereby transmitting torque to the developing roller.
