  • Publication number: 20020022921
Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus in which changes of linear A/F sensor or engine response characteristics can be detected with high precision in a broad range during operation of an engine. The apparatus includes a controller 50 for controlling an air/fuel ratio of each cylinder of a multiple cylinder engine, and a linear A/F sensor 28 for emitting an output which is proportional to the air/fuel ratio of an exhaust tube assembly. The air/fuel ratio of a specific cylinder is changed by a predetermined amount, a vibration component amplitude or a frequency component based on an engine rotation number is extracted from a signal obtained from the linear A/F sensor 28, and the response characteristics of an air/fuel ratio detector or the engine are detected from the amplitude or a power of the frequency component.

  • Publication number: 20020016865
Abstract: Relating to a method succeeded among a plurality of classes having a hierarchical relationship and the method overwriting the succeeded method, a method table stores therein method information including starting addresses of the storage locations of the respective methods, in which the respective method information is connected in series along the hierarchical relationship between the position classes of the respective methods. When a storage location of a message called by the message of a method call is retrieved, the retrieval of the method table is executed by the key which is the class designated by the message. Unless any designated method is retrieved by this retrieval, the key which is a super class of the designated class executes the retrieval based on the class table.

  • Patent number: 6324836
Abstract: If the output of an O2 sensor located downstream of a catalyst deviates from a predetermined range, the air-to-fuel ratio upstream of the catalyst is over-corrected to be a leaner value or a richer value beyond the predetermined purification-efficiency range when the output of the O2 sensor downstream of the catalyst indicates rich or lean, respectively, so that the output of the O sensor downstream of the catalyst returns within a predetermined range as soon as possible.

  • Patent number: 6316329
Abstract: In a process for fabricating a semiconductor device, an DLC (diamond like carbon) film is formed on a principal surface of a semiconductor substrate, and an ashing protecting film is formed on the DLC film for protecting the DLC film from an ashing. A hard mask film having a resisting property against an etching agent for the ashing protecting film and the DLC film, is formed on the ashing protecting film. The hard mask film is patterned using a patterned photo resist film as a mask, and then, the patterned photo resist film is removed by an oxygen ashing. The ashing protecting film and the DLC film is patterned using the patterned hard mask film as a mask, and a trench is formed in the principal surface of the semiconductor substrate using the patterned hard mask film, ashing protecting film and DLC film as a mask. An insulator film is deposited on the whole surface to completely fill up the trench.

  • Publication number: 20010037495
Abstract: The objective of this invention is to realize an information processing scheme such that the necessary references, including reference data specifying locations to be accessed in the memory, are found before the program is executed, and each result is stored in a link to the program. Then the locations to be accessed can be specified immediately by the reference data when the program is executed. The program's running time is stabilized and its speed is increased. It is well suited for use in a device which requires real time capability. when a program written in an interpreter language is run, the reference data specifying the locations to be accessed in the memory are extracted and the references are found before the program is executed. The results which are obtained are then linked to the program through the aforesaid reference data.

  • Patent number: 6142117
Abstract: An engine control system for an internal combustion engine comprises a combustion system for changing over a combustion mode from a first mode such as a stratified charge combustion mode to a second mode such as a homogeneous charge combustion mode, and an EGR system for controlling an EGR flow to the engine with an EGR control valve. A controller calculates a delayed target equivalent ratio which varies gradually from a first ratio for the first mode to a second ratio for the second mode, and further calculates a modified target equivalent ratio in consideration of an amount of an EGR gas. The controller determines the combustion changeover timing by monitoring a parameter based on the modified target equivalent ratio to take account of the influence of the EGR gas.

  • Patent number: 6069374
Abstract: A CCD type solid state imaging device including a plurality of vertically arranged light receiving elements, a plurality of vertical charge transfer electrodes associated with the light receiving elements and transfer channels through which signal electrical charges stored in the light receiving elements are readout and transferred in the charge transfer direction by the transfer electrodes. The present invention features that unlike the conventional CCD type solid state imaging device, the boundary line between at least a part of the vertical charge transfer electrodes and a part of the vertical charge transfer electrodes adjacent thereto is held aslant with respect to the transfer channels so that the vertical transfer efficiency of the device is increased without incurring a reduction in the amount of signal charges being handled and the readout of the signal charges stored in the light receiving elements to the transfer channels is performed more smoothly than the conventional device.
