  • Patent number: 4442424
Abstract: A plurality of engine operating parameters and useful information items are monitored by respective sensors. A control unit receives signals from the sensors to display the monitored items in a varible format on a single viewing screen in accordance with the conditions of the monitored items. Abnormal condition of the monitored items is detected by the control unit to enlarge the display format to give an warning indication. A pushbutton is provided for each of the monitored items to generate a display command signal in response to a manual command to provide a display of a desired item in an enlarged format.

  • Patent number: 4364513
Abstract: An automobile air-conditioning control apparatus includes a microcomputer which is responsive to the output signals of a compartment temperature sensor for sensing the temperature of the vehicle compartment of an automobile and temperature setting means for setting a desired temperature to be controlled to perform digital computational operations. The position of flow direction changing plate means and the rotational speed of blower motors are automatically controlled in accordance with the command signals from the microcomputer.

  • Patent number: 4348653
Abstract: A system for indicating an abnormal condition of an automobile in which the condition of inspection items relating to the driving of the automobile is detected, and running speed of the automobile is detected. The system decides that the condition of an inspection item has reached a first abnormal level, and upon detection of the stoppage of the automobile after the time point of the decision, a voice cautioning the driver of the abnormal condition of the inspection item is automatically generated. Upon detection of the fact that a second abnormal level higher than the first abnormal level has been reached, a voice warning the driver of the abnormal condition of the inspection item is generated regardless of the driving condition of the automobile.

  • Patent number: 4257040
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting information indicative of the rotation of an engine is disclosed in which a multiplicity of magnetic poles are formed on a track along the circumferential periphery of a rotating member driven by an engine, thus detecting a rotational reference position and a rotational angle from the rotational reference position of the engine. A rotational reference sensor and an angle sensor for generating a signal representing a change in magnetic fluxes by detection of the magnetic fluxes from the track are arranged in opposition to the track in spaced relation from each other along the axis of the rotating member. Some of the magnetic poles on the track which are opposed to the rotational reference sensor are omitted, so that a signal representing the rotational reference position is generated in the case where the angle sensor detects magnetic fluxes but the rotational reference sensor fails to detect the same.

  • Patent number: 4181884
Abstract: A rotational position detecting apparatus for use in spark ignition control systems for internal combustion engines. A plurality of angular informations are provided circularly on a rotatable disk except at the predetermined reference angular position of said rotatable disk. Two of the angular informations provided beside the reference angular position are spaced twice as wide as a predetermined angular interval between other two of the angular informations. A first and second signal generators spaced integer times as wide as the predetermined angular interval from each other are associated with the rotatable disk for generating respective a.c. output signals in response to the passing of each of said angular informations. The a.c. output signals of the first and second signal generators are applied to an electric circuit which subtracts one of the a.c. output signals from the other of the a.c. output signals and shapes the subtraction resultant signal into a pulse signal.

  • Patent number: 4163282
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for controlling a combustion engine, a digital computer repetitively and sequentially calculates first and second values corresponding to the proper settings or actuation of first and second control devices that are used to control the combustion of the air-fuel mixture, by sensing changes in the operating conditions of the engine, the computer being programmed to calculate such first and second values from a first fuction describing a desired relationship between the condition of the engine and the setting of the first control device and from a second function describing another desired relationship between the condition of the engine and the setting of the second control device.
